" I'm not selling it, Im truly sorry, sir"

With Cora by her side, Katerina hurried into a fancy little jewelry shop on the street. As soon as the Carpathia had docked, she got off, wasting no time.

A bell rang above the door as they rushed in from the cold, with no intention of buying nor selling anything. Katerina wrapped Cora, who was shivering in the many extra blankets a lady offered them before they got off the ship.

She had no money, food, shelter, or anything, really, and she wasn't about to run back to her horrible finacée or aunt and leave Cora all alone.

Kat rubbed Cora's arms up and down, trying to warm her up whilst she was shivering. She'd given the girl her blankets.

"I'll be right with you!" a voice shouted from the back. Katerina turned from Cora to see a man hustling out from the back of the store. "Oh— I uh..."

"Hello, miss. What can I do for you?" he grinned. "Selling? Buying? Just browsing perhaps?"

She certainly wasn't buying anything, she was broke.

"Oh, I don't— I don't have anything to sell." the jewler didn't say anything, staring at her neck.

Katerina looked down, seeing her necklace from Jack, it certainly wasn't worth much. But it meant everything to her, she'd never sell it. Even if it meant being on the streets.

"I'll give you twenty for it." he spoke, Katerina looked up. "We've been lookin' for more personalized jewelry." It was a lot of money to her, but it still wasn't much. But it wasn't worth the value the necklace meant to her.

She clenched the engraved J marking in her hand, "I'm not selling it, Im truly sorry, sir." she told, going to take Cora's hand and leave, but she stopped herself as she took one step away.

She remembered something, and she walked up to the counter. "Actually, sir." the jeweler turned around and saw her standing at the counter.

"I do have something to sell.." she told, fishing her hand inside her pocket.

"I would like to sell this." she pulled her hand from her pocket, and she held up the gleaming blue diamond necklace. The heart of the ocean.
