. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Welcome,

to "depths of despair"

a continuation of Katerina and Jack's story.

Will they find each other in the big city of New York?

Or will they remain in their separate lives just as they once did before Titanic?

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Jack is alive.

He never went down with the ship. Katerina knows this, she put his body on the door. But, he was dead. At least, she thought he was.

And she's left alone, having to raise five year old Cora Cartmell who had no family left alive from the sinking. Katerina safely boarded the RMS Carpathia with Cora, the morning of the heart wrenching tragedy, alone and heartbroken by the loss of the love of her life. Though she didn't know it, Jack boarded it too, he was saved. And he seemed to think she was dead too.

Until he found hope.

He knew she was alive,

but for all she knew he was dead.

She pried his frozen fingers off her wrist, as she made her promise to him.

She thought he was dead and that she would be alone forever.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It's September of 1912. Five months later.

That's five months of pain. Pain of living without Jack, pain of being alone. Yes, she made a promise. But, it still hurt. It hurt to think of him, she could still hear his voice. His laugh, she could even remember his stupid jokes.

But she kept herself busy, she got a job. She had Cora to think about.

Though she didn't know it, it wouldn't be long till the two souls that were meant to be together met again.

She made a promise to him, and she would never break that promise.

"I need you to know.. winning that ticket, Kat- it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you. And I'm thankful for that, Katerina. I'm thankful. I'm thankful for you. You changed my life."

"No, Jack." she cried, tears dripping from her eyes. "I don't say my goodbyes, you don't either."

"You must do me this honor, you must promise me that you'll survive. With or without me." his lip quivered, "I need you to promise me Katerina. That you won't give up, no matter what happens. No matter how hopeless you are promise me now Kat, and never let go of that promise."

"I promise."

"Never let go."

"I'll never let go, Jack. I promise."
