I never thought this would actually happen to me.
That day changed my attitude, turned my whole life upside down.
After finally coming up with a plan of my proposal,
I wrote an invitation to Jane for a nice and simple dinner.Being a writer, I knew to play with words and I again tried to write a love letter with an invitation pouring my heart into the card.
I went to her boutique but she wasn't there at the shop.
I left it on her desk.
My name was not mentioned on the invitation card because I wanted to surprise her.
With the help of Morco,
I planned and executed things.I cooked food, decorated the library.
Morco was very excited for me.I felt nervous about how would she react after my confession? Would she accept my proposal or Would she start hating me.
I was very tensed. After all my set up, I left for getting ready. I wore a black tuxedo. I combed my hair neatly and applied the most expensive cologne.
As soon as I came back.
The roses slipped from my hand hitting the ground, witnessing the sight in front of my eyes tore my heart.
All was ruined as Jane was kissing Henry. Her slender arms were wrapped around his neck. They actually were making out.
They both were looking in each other's eyes with so much of love. My heart broke seeing them together.
I couldn't see this and came home angrily.
I was crying bitterly.I couldn't believe it. All this while, she loved Henry.
Morco spotted me entering the house. he came running behind me.
"Hey buddy, what's wrong? Did she reject you? Tell me. You are making me tensed". I told him about the scenario.
He looked stunned and angry."What the hell are you doing here?
You should go and tell her that it was not Henry who made the arrangements.Tell her everything Chris, I'm sure she'll reciprocate your love".
I nodded thinking he's right and was about to leave.Suddenly I heard the word "Stop"..
It was none other than Sir Dominic on his wheelchair. He clumped forward.
"I want you leave this town, Chris. Forever. Never come back here. Forget your love. I want my son to be happy,
He had made many sacrifices in his life and further, I don't want him to sacrifice his love because of you.
He loves Jane. Jane too loves him. Then why are you creating a problem? It would be better if you forget Jane.
In return, I'll give you, all your certificates and paper which would provide you a better future. I'll even give you your Character Certificate and half of my wealth. You had asked me Chris once that you would do anything for me. Please leave this town, never come back. I don't want to see you". He finished talking.
I was shocked to hear him speak like this.
He sounded selfish. He wanted to repay his son for all the guilt he had.
I went to my room, packed my bag. Sir had already placed a packet of my certificates on the table. I took it.Morco followed me.
He was saying again and again about Sir's Selfishness. I didn't listen to him. He told me that he will tell Jane the whole truth.
To stop him, I punched him hard. His nose turned red. He looked very angry."Just for a foolish girl, I won't spoil my future". Don't try to ruin this. Stay out of it". He was furious now.
He said further, "Okay, I will stay out. I will stay out of this friendship forever. I never thought that you would do anything such for just saving your future. I thought, it is Uncle who is being so selfish but no it's you.
You are being selfish here.
I don't want to see your face ever. Please Leave. You doesn't deserve a girl like Jane". His words were painful but it was not that painful than that of Sir's. I left the town that evening.I loved Jane with all my heart but she loves Henry. I loved her enough to let her go. I kept my promise to Sir Dominic.
Those certificates and money don't matter to me but my promise to him does. Please vote and comment.
