Jo'Zari

Finally regrouping I decided to shower really quick and think to myself before going back out.

"You done in there ?" A female voice said. I looked up to see this short dark skinned girl. She had a small neat figure and wore a beanie over her curls. It was black along with a black sweat suit.

"I'm so sorry." I said embarrassed. Then looking around at the room that looked like a tornado had ran through.

"You'll gain control." She nodded as she began to pick up the fallen objects.

"I hope so. This is all just....just crazy!" I said hitting my forehead feeling dumbfounded.

She chuckled and sighed after straightening the room.

"What are you a witch or something?"

"I guess." I shrugged to weirded out to even claim the title.

"And you never knew? Like nothing was off?" She asked in confusion.

"No.." I said thinking of any weird, magical moments I may have had. "My grandma's space is basically filled with witchcraft though." I said looking up immediately. "Is my Grandma a real witch!?"

"Wait!" She said quickly grabbing the glass that was about to rumble from her nightstand.

I took a breath and tried to calm my thoughts.

"I'm so sorry. This is something I have to get used to. And my family hasn't told me nothing!" I grumbled.

"So are you gonna give them a call?" She asked.

"No. Not now." I shook my head considering I was to angry to to talk to anyone. "I think I need to just chill and learn about myself first." I said taking a seat on my bed and grabbing my laptop to start researching.

"You know they can't tell you the real deal but by all means." She shrugged, raising her hands in surrender. "Humans don't know the full story about Supernaturals, doll." She kicked her feet up and hit her vape.

I looked up and wondered more about her. All I knew was her appearance. "And what exactly are you?"

"I'm a vampire. My name's Luna." She said as she began flipping through channels on her tv. It sent shivers down my spine for a second but she didn't seem harmful at all thank God. She just a little gothy...

"I'm Jo'Zari. You can call me Zari." I introduced myself and she only nodded and watched her show.

I took a moment to stare at her and shook my head before going back to my research.

She laughed at me and I just rolled my eyes. I was over all of this.

"Hey Dr. Brinx. I wanted to apologize for earlier." I said entering her office.

"Don't bother. It's normal for you to feel that way. Your whole life has been hidden and you feel lied to. I understand." She smiled. "In the mean time we need to get you in control of those powers." She took a paper from the printer. "What classes do we have for you? " she asked herself. "Witchcraft101, Intro to Magic and Spell Lab." All of these teachers are great, you'll love them. "I believe your aunt is one of them?" She said with a questioning smirk.

"Wow." I said forgetting that my aunt works here. She must be something. "Do you know which class she directs?"

"Intro to magic and she may take you to the spell lab also." She explained.

"Okay. When do I go?" I asked ready to learn more.

"You can head to that class now I believe they just started because we need to get some beginners like you ready and in control before the year starts. We don't need chaos this year." She said looking at her watch. "Before you go darling. I have to wipe the human visual from your brain. You're now worthy of the real CapU. You'll need it in order to learn your way around here." She said and snapped her fingers revealing what her room actually looked like. Instead of lamps there were glowing butterflies in the corners and I could now see her wings that sprouted and sparkled behind her.

Those must be Minnie fairies not butterflies.

"Woa." I whispered in total amazement. I was in complete shock.

"And you are cable of just as much. Run along dear." She smiled waving me off and I exited the room with the schedule she gave me.

"Now just how in the hell do I get there?" I asked myself looking around. I quickly turned back around and decided to just go back the way I came "Oh-shit!" I cursed as I hit someone's hard chest. "I'm so sorry ."

I looked up to see a tall dark figure. He wore a red hoodie that read "VampField" and sweat pants to match. I couldn't remove my eyes from his grey ones as I stuttered. "I-I um. I was looking-"

"You need some help ma?" He smirked.

I took a breath and tried controlling my emotions because if they were like that when I was angry I can only imagine what it would be like while I was a nervous wreck.

"I'm looking for Intro to Magic. It's says W2B4 I wouldn't know what that means." I shrugged. I felt a bit more confident being that I knew I looked very cute today. I had to spice up for the first day of course.

"Wing 2 Hall B. Room 4." He explained and I only watched his lips move as I nodded. "I can show you where it's at." He said with a nice gesture of a finger.

"I'd like that." I smiled and he smiled back instructing for me to follow him.

"So what brings you here to Casper University aka the school of Witchcraft and Supernatural Arts?"

"My dad made me come here. I just learned of all this ." I said shaking my head. "Supposedly I'm a witch."

"Aww damn." He turned around and gave me a once over and licked his lips. "That's messed up but something told me you were a witch." He said as he kept walking.

"What gave you that idea?" I asked.

"Well for one when we bumped into each other just a moment ago I think it was you that caused that strong gust of wind. And you're also African right?"

"I am."

"Yeah most of our witches come from African lineage. It's pretty cool." He nodded.

"I can't wait to get the hang of all this. I shook my head.

"Well Professor Reily can help with that. She's the best." He said as we approached the class. "Y'all kind of favor now that I think about it." I looked in the glass door at my Aunt as she lectured her students. Her big curly afro complemented her skin as she wore a pretty two piece dashiki and sparkling crystals around her neck and wrists.

" She's my Aunt." I smiled knowing that this had to be good in some way. I was actually happy to learn how to use the witchy powers I now possess. Unbelievable.

"Nah you lying." He said with a twisted lip as I shook my head and his eyes grew big with raised eyebrows in disbelief.

"Hey Mrs. Riley I was just helping your new student to her first class." He spoke as he opened the door.

"Thanks Kason and Welcome Jo'Zari!" She said excitedly.

"Hey Aunt Kleea ." I beamed with a hug. "Or Professor Riley." I corrected myself with a smirk and eye roll and she laughed.

It's been a while since I saw my Aunt Kleea. My last time seeing her was probably at my mother's funeral.

"Everyone this is my niece Jo'Zari Knox. We want to welcome her with open arms and let her know that we are all about love here at CapU." She smiled and pointed to an empty seat for me.

I took a seat and tuned in as she began teaching what she called the basics like telekinesis and easy spells.

Hopefully this turns out to be a good thing.
