Chapter 11: Strange Map

A/N: alright then! The plot is taking a sharp turn once again. Sorry for the people who thought this was going to be a smooth world building without any spice involved. This book is at least going to have 50 chapters. The ending is what I am looking forward to because I want to see what you're thoughts are.

Waking up from sleep was the easiest thing to do ever since i reincarnated. I haven't stopped thinking about the "weird" thing in the demon army. I have also got a message late at night from the great library saying it would be better if the "weird" thing was killed because it's bothering both the game and the safety of the people. I just don't know what's going on.

I don't think the "weird" thing is the demon riding on the dragon. I think it's something else. This could also explain how they go mounts so quickly. I need to see the map and the gift. Furthermore I think to make a rough estimate for where everything is in terms of the divine's domain and where the other species are located. I have no starting point other than the one message. I sigh and walk towards the gift corridor.

The map is not a paper map. It looks more like an iPad. I can see my moon, sun and my domain but as I move the map around I see nothing else here. "Athena, help me out here" I plead and Athena nods. "A divine is responsible for their own universe. Each god or goddess has one universe to manage. The one you are currently looking at is your universe. You need to built a teleportation gate and also a map universal radar to detect and move to other universes. Furthermore, this universe only has what you see since you are the creator." Athena tells me and I nod in understanding.

"Earth's god must have been quite strong to have built so many planets and suns and comets and so many other things" Athena tells me and I smile at that. At least I am glad I did not pray to a weak god. The tablet is rose gold and there is only one app, which is the map. I look towards the gift that is sent to me.

When I open the gift I frown at what I see. A book or a diary? It's very old but there is something attached to it. "Not all is what it seems" the title says and the book shows many races and their variety of evolution beyond what is possible. Humans making technology or even having the concept of make technology was not intentional by the god of earth. "This is a book from the great library's restricted section. I am not sure why It's being given away" Athena furrows her brow and thinks.

I was only able to read the first page, I couldn't move to the next. "Why can't I turn to the second page?" I ask and she answers like this knowledge should be obvious, "there is things you must complete to unlock the next page. It is harder because, unlike the normal books in the great library, this book doesn't say what steps you must complete" she says while staring at the book. "By the way there is one more book. You really should pay attention to the gifts given by the library" she tells me with her hands on her hips.

I look to the box and then look at her. "Um Athena, there is no more book." I tell her as I touch the bottom of the gift box for some secret spaces. "What do you mean there is no book. Your literally touching it! Right there, inside the box. It's practically glowing." She looks both surprised and annoyed. "If you know where it is, please get it your self" I tell her with a similarly annoyed face. Athena realized something because her face paled "I am sorry for reacting in such a way, I just-I don't know. The books, it doesn't seem right to me to have it. I am just flustered. I'll try to act better" she shakes her head and takes out the still invisible book.

It looks like she is miming reading a book. "Now I understand why you couldn't see it. Both of these books have heavy enchantments so people have to meet certain requirements to even see the book much less read it" Athena sighed and bowed in apology. Of course i forgave her, I know that after the horde incident she has been very flustered and emotional. I can't seem to place my fingers on it but she almost seems to be someone different entirely. I freeze in place as I look at her. "Why and when did I give you the name Athena?" I ask her. Athena has absolute memory because of the blessing she got from me.

"Huh? Oh a it's because I help you a lot" there was a huge silence between us. That's not her. She is not Athena. As I look at her for several seconds, I start to think, when she changed. She has never left my sight. She was always there, the only two times she left me was when she was researching the horde and when the hordes came.

"You know, you found out much quicker than the rest" Athena smiles and snaps me out of my jumble of thoughts. "I was warned by [>{%^]? That you will be special. I have done this before, I did not think you would realize it quickly. I commend you" she tells me as her grin becomes worse and worse. "Who are you?!" I scream at her and she giggles. "Someone..." that's all she says, I quickly take the imaginary book and and the diary and put it in my storage space before she could move. Even if I die, those books will come with me.

Her eyes widen as she realized what I did and she lets out an inhuman growl. "Give me those books! Those books do not belong to you. #^>{¥~ was wrong to give it to you! Give it back" she pounces on me but I activate my barrier. I added something special for demons so if she is a demon, then she will be trapped... I just hope I am not doing something bad.
