Lacey changed into comfy clothes and undid the ponytail her hair was kept in. She yawned again and rubbed her eyes before stretching out and getting settled into bed.

Lacey pulled the blanket over her as she closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep.

As her dreams were soft and peaceful Lacey smiled at her surroundings. Until they grew black as the dream became a nightmare.

Black sand swirled around her feet as it crept up her body. Soon she started to sink in the black sandy void as wailing and crying sounds flooded her ears. They grew louder as Lacey sunk into the ground while black sandy tendrils came out of the ground and gripped onto her body. The noise became unbearable as Lacey shook violently in her sleep as she sunk deeper into the quicksand.

A faint outline could be seen through the thick shadows above Lacey as her body was almost entirely consumed by the quicksand. A pair of round eyes could be seen through the darkness.

The eyes looked to be made out of glass, but it was cracked badly as a black liquid came out of them. The wailing and crying was painfully unbearable as Lacey was about to be pulled under the quicksand.

Until-

She woke up, or so she thought.

Lacey shot upward as her face dripped with sweat and felt cold as her heart was practically beating out of her chest. Lacey's eyes fixed on something that glimmered in the darkness. A round object with clear gemstones rimming the edge gleamed in the darkness.

Lacey stared at it as the outline of something behind her own reflection became thicker along with dark shadows set behind her. Lacey rubbed her eyes now fully awake as the shadows and the creepy outline of something dissappeared. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness Lacey got out of her bed and slipped out of her room.

She walked to the kitchen and filled a glass of water for herself. She gulped it down and then sighed. Moonlight hit her face through the window as she stood in front of it as she stared outside.

As Lacey looked out the window, she thought she was dreaming at first, again. But it wasn't a dream; barely noticeable behind a tree. There was something staring at her in the darkness... Lacey froze as she stared at the sight.

The creature had black hair and pale white skin, along with a white shirt, dark black pants along with shoes and was unnaturally tall. But the most noticeable thing about it was its eyes.

It's eyes reflected the moonlight as it stood there, completely still. Lacey felt a chill go up her spine the more she looked at the strange thing.

it felt so... unreal...

Yet,

It wasn't.

Lacey felt like she was staring at the thing for an eternity. She rubbed her eyes and it disappeared. As she turned around to leave she nearly jumped out of her body.

The mirror was there... again, on the wall but in a different spot. Lacey saw herself in it as it gleamed in the faint moonlight. The outline of something behind grew clearer as she stared at it.

Lacey thought she was going crazy, of maybe it was just a bad case of schizophrenia. She stood in front of the mirror and put a hand on it. It was now even colder to the the touch, and small cracks could be seen on it. Lacey backed away from the mirror and walked out of the kitchen to her bedroom.

The mirror appeared again in the hallway. It glimmered in the dark as Lacey walked past it.

She settled back into bed with her eyes still wide open. She looked outside her window to see if that thing was there. She scanned the darkness until she saw the unmistakable sight of that creature from earlier. It was barely noticeable in the shadows of the trees and vegetation. Its cold glass eyes shone in the dark as it stood there.

Cold sweat started dripping down Lacey's face as she stared at the thing. She tried to avoid it's gaze that was burning into her skull.

Lacey then decided to try and ignore the creature as she then went back to sleep as it disappeared into the shadows and the mirror then reappeared in Lacey's room.
