: PrologueChapter Text
...Hah? Where am I?
A boy asked amidst the darkness. Anywhere he looked there was only more darkness to greet him. He felt a numbing pain all over his body, the only emotion grounding him along with confusion. Surrounding him there were muffled sounds of familiar voices he couldn't place.
I was late going to school after playing games all night. I rode my bike and was excited to talk to A-chan about the route I had just finished, and then...Ah, that's right...
He recalled that final moment, riding down a hill too fast along with that truck that didn't see him until it was too late. He grimaced to himself, wondering if this was the end for him as he didn't have a form, wherever this place was. He could still think, albeit to just himself. If he could, he'd sit down, crossing his legs and arms, waiting for anything to come his way. Really, the only thing that irritated him was a buzzing sound that was ringing in his ears.
That's what I get for not wearing a helmet I guess. I hope A-chan won't be that upset about me being late to class again.

..."I HATE YOU!!"
A young boy in blue yelled towards another about his age. Though the other boy, one dressed in white, only sighed at him, turning his head away, not wanting to deal with his childishness. He was already displeased with forcibly having to visit this brat, now he was in the middle of the scene he was making, looked on by the other members of the Claes household.
"Please don't say that Lord Klaus, I'm sure if we-"
"No!!" The boy in blue, Klaus remarked angrily. "I'm sick of hearing your voice and seeing your face! You're..." He struggled to come up with the words. "You're just a doll, saying whatever everyone wants to hear and thinking that you're better than everyone just because you're a prince!!"
The boy in white's eyes widened for a moment before Lady Claes stepped forward.
"That's enough!" She snapped, snapping her fan in her hand and causing her son to flinch slightly at the sound. "You've troubled the young prince enough Klaus, apologize." She said sternly with no trace of warmth in his voice.
The boy in white noticed Lord Klaus trembling as he struggled to keep eye contract with his mother. Internally, he chastised the younger boy who was truly making a fool of himself and his family.
Apologize already and get this over with. You've already caused enough trouble as it is, so just listen to your mother and do what she says.
"Klaus." Lady Claes said more sternly as Klaus clutched his other hand, his entire body trembling as he hung his head.
"No..."
"What was that?!" Lady Claes snapped her calm demeanor now turning towards anger. Klaus lifted his head, his sapphire colored eyes blazing with defiance.
"If he wants me to apologize he can ask me himself!!" Klaus shouted, but there a trace of fear in his eyes just before he furrowed his brow. His appearance was always unsettling due to his narrowed eyes, but boy in while felt even more unsettled at the pure anger in his voice.
The tension between mother and son was palpable while the boy in white couldn't bring himself to say a word.
"Go to your room, you've embarrassed this family enough for today." Lady Claes remarked as she turned away from her son, covering her face with her fan.
Even so, the boy in white glanced back at Lord Klaus who had tears start to well up in his eyes, he saw the boy glare at him angrily, as though he were blaming him for his mother scolding him. But before the boy in white could say anything he saw Lord Klaus turning towards the window behind him, opening up the doors and then climbing onto the sill.
