"I believe I know what time it is," Fred sang, walking out of his bedroom. We were all sat around the fire, hot chocolates in hand recounting the match. He brandished a potion bottle from his pocket. George made a trumpet sound with his lips. "Two truths and a dare." The boys cheered.
"And how do we make it more interesting Fred?"
"I don't know, you tell me George."
"Truth potion," He grinned proudly. "Brewed by yours truly."
"Now I'm definitely not drinking it," I laughed.
"Aw come on Del," Ron said. "Worried we're gonna-""Knock knock," Someone said from outside of the tent, and before any of us could reply, in walked Cedric Diggory. Something in my stomach tightened. "I got fed up of the parties, mind if I join?" He asked.
"We're playing two truths and a dare," Ginny explained.
"With truth potion," George added. Without hesitating, Cedric took the bottle out of Fred's hand and took a sip. We all watched him in disbelief. He returned the bottle and took a seat."T-try and lie," Fred blurted, the first to break the silence.
"Um, the Bulgarians-" And instantly he choked on his words.
"And you feel fine?" George asked.
"Y-yes, should I not?"Fred turned to George in disbelief.
"That's got to be the first potion you've brewed right in years." The group of us couldn't help but laugh.
"Well now that we know it works," George said, he and Fred joining the little circle we'd made. "Let the game begin!" He cheered. He placed the potion bottle in the centre of the circle and gave it a spin. It landed on Hermione.
"Truth," She said instantly, taking a sip of the potion.
"As I expected," George began. "Hermione, tell me. Out of all the professors, past and present, who would you give a smooch."
"Well we all know she's going to say Lockhea-" Ron began, but before he could finish, Hermione blurted,
"Dumbledore."
"What?!" We all screeched in disbelief. She turned bright pink.
"I-I don't know," She stuttered. "I guess intelligence can be attractive?"It was all any of us could do but burst out laughing.
"Alright, alright," Hermione said, clearly eager to change the subject. She spun the bottle and it landed on Cedric. "Truth or dare."
"Dare," He smiled. I tapped Hermione's shoulder and whispered an idea in her ear. "Oh come on," Cedric said. "That can't be allowed. I call... interference or something."
"I'm afraid that's not a rule mate," George said, patting him entirely unsympathetically on the back.
"Cedric," Hermione began, a wide grin plastered across her face. "I dare you to go into the first aid kit and drink the entire bottle of Pepper-up potion."
"Oooooo," Everybody cheered. Cedric looked at me in disbelief. I winked.
"That's not a dare, that's a bloody death sentence," Ron exclaimed.
"But it is a dare," George replied, and with the face of an unwilling executioner, he got the Pepper-up potion out of the first aid kid and handed it to Cedric. "Bottoms up my man."Cedric popped the cork and sniffed the steam rising from the bottle, immediately grimacing. Even still, without a moment's hesitation, he lifted the bottle to his lips and began to drink.
"Chug, chug, chug!" We all cheered, clapping along. Red began creeping up his neck so, by the time he finished the bottle with a loud gasp, his whole face was the colour of a tomato. Immediately he began coughing and spluttering, steam falling out of his mouth in plumes. Fred took the bottle from his hands, ignoring the fact that he was doubled over and turned it upside down. Not a drop fell out.
"It's empty!" He cheered, and the whole tent erupted in applause. Cedric tried to give a gracious winning smile, but Fred and George patted him on the back sending him straight into another coughing fit. When his spluttering finally did clear.
"My turn," He said in a hoarse but vengeful voice. Immediately, I knew what was coming. Instead of spinning the bottle, he grabbed it and turned it pointedly at me.
"Oh come on," Hermione interjected. "That has to be against the rules."
"Did you make any rules Fred?"
"No George, did you make any rules?"
"No. So I guess it's not against the rules," George said.
"Delphi," Cedric asked. "Truth or dare?"
"I'd pick dare if I were you," Harry warned.
"Dare," I said to Cedric. Everyone looked at me in disbelief – only Cedric was grinning.
"Then I dare you to eat the bitterroot balm also in the First Aid Kit." He gave me a triumphant smile.
"And," George added. "If you can't keep a straight face, you have to call dare for the rest of the game." I waved him away.
"Easy."
