Author's POV:
You stared at the telephone booth informed of you. If you decided to run away, your life would change. But a sudden thought occurred to you. Your foot was hurting right now, you looked down and sighed. Why did you have to run forgetting you had an injured foot?
Jo had left you in that trunk trusting that you wouldn't run away. Maybe he didn't even realize that he ended up trusting you.
"He's really dumb." You mumbled, a soft chuckle escaping your lips. But the knot of anxiousness in your stomach was increasing. You gulped staring in front of you.You had two choices.
To keep the trust of the men who kidnapped you and stay for 2 more months... or to escape this place.
You wanted to escape, always. Right now, maybe by an accident, this chance was open for you. A part of you felt guilty. As much as you disliked being in that house, you lived with those people for 24 days now. Though the moments weren't pleasant, somehow, you got to know them. They were better than lots of other people. Maybe not the best, but better than the others in that field. If you betrayed them, what would happen?
There was no purpose for you to stay. But you felt like a sense of loyalty was poking you. As if you owed them. You tried to shrug off any 'extra nice' thoughts and walked inside. There was a coin that fell on the ground near the booth. Maybe someone dropped it by accident while leaving. You held the coin tightly before gulping. Putting it in, you took the telephone and put it near your ear, typing in the numbers.
You typed 2 numbers and stopped. You were hesitating.
"What if I get caught instead? It'd be worse." You said to yourself. A part of you wanted to end this here but another part of you felt scared. It'd be way worse if he caught you. Jo would be in huge trouble as well. You were the one who fooled him into this and if his mistake caused this, he'd be good as dead.
"He wouldn't kill him... would he?" You asked yourself, staring at the numbers.Just a few dials and you'd be home.
You were about to press another number but flinched hearing a loud gunshot. Your eyes widened as you stared at the rollercoaster. People near that area were screaming in fear and running away.
"Guns? Wasn't the fight in a forest...?" You asked yourself, gulping. Quickly getting out of the telephone booth, you tried to see what was happening in that area as you felt someone push you really hard, causing you to fall down. You groaned in pain and looked behind to see a tall figure wearing a cap, running near the forest. It looked like Joel, was it him?
A shiver ran down your spine as you noticed a few other men running behind him. Taehyung and Jo were also there. You got up and walked near, gasping.
"I need to hide." You whispered and ran in the other direction, outside the amusement park. You glanced at the telephone booth, a part of you feeling like it was breaking. The chance was going away. But another gunshot told you it wasn't the time to think about escaping. It was about surviving.Among the crowd, you somehow went outside, about to enter the trunk of the car which was parked at a corner. There were no people around. Everyone was running in the other direction. You opened the trunk, about to get in but your heart dropped to your stomach when you heard a familiar voice,
"Oh, nice seeing you here, gorgeous."
Joel. It was his voice.
You immediately turned around, your face horrified. He noticed the expression and chuckled darkly, walking towards you. You gulped and took a few steps back, speaking, "How... are you-"
"Here? I tricked your lover and those minions of his. Well, I must say, he doesn't leave his men alone to die. He fights with them... he's fun. I was going to join in but when I saw you roaming around... I realized, there are many other ways to destroy him... other than a war."
He noticed your confused yet scared expression and spoke, "You're his lover... if he sees his minions die today, along with you. How would he feel?"
