Foolish One

Damon and I are sitting in the library of the house. I was reading an old diary. Damon was searching through books.
"Scar you could at least try to help" Damon says and I laugh.
"Fine" I say getting up and helping him search through books. Stefan walks in the room.
"What are you two looking for?" Stefan asks.
"Not your concern" Damon says
"No, but putting Elena is harms way is my concern" Stefan says and I roll my eyes.
"She's fine Stef" I say smiling, he shakes his head and looks at me with concern.
"Scarlett what the hell is going on with you?" Stefan says. I roll my eyes.
"I'm just trying to help a brother get his love back" I smile.
"Yeah I don't buy it" Stefan says and I roll my eyes.
"We had a blast with Elena" Damon says.
"I get it. You're just bitter because one of us gets to be with the person that we love, and poor Katherine is just out of reach. Unless there's another way for you to get into that tomb. Is that what Bree said?" Stefan says laughing in Damon's face. I have tears in my eyes and vamp speed, choking Stefan. "Scarlett" Stefan chokes out.
"I loved Katherine. More than both of you, and she loved me, but because it was 1864 we had to keep it a secret. Now I didn't spend all this time trying to get her back for you both to get in my way" I screamed, Damon dragged me off of Stefan. I vamp speed out of the house.

I walk into school and spot Jeremy. I smile and wave at him.
"Hey Jere" I say.
"Are you okay?" Jeremy asks, I nod.
"I'm staying" I smile and he smiles giving me a hug. I see Bonnie passing, and I stop her. Jeremy walks away giving us space. "I've missed you" I say smiling, she smiles.
"Me too, I just needed space" Bonnie says giving me a hug. I see Stefan walking towards me, I sigh. "What?" Bonnie questions.
"Avoiding my big brothers" I smile and she laughs. "I love your smile" I say and she smiles.
"Let's talk at the mystic grill after school, looks like you and your brother need to talk" she smiles and I nod. Stefan finally makes is way to where I am, and I roll my eyes.
"Listen, Scarlett. Damon and I are both sorry" Stefan says and I look at him with a weird look. "Okay maybe not Damon but I am. You both put Elena in harms way and I just can't have that" Stefan says and I nod.
       "I'm going to get Katherine back, no matter who I have to go through to get her back. I may not kill like Damon but don't get on my bad side Stefan and you know this." I say and he nods. I walk away from him.

         Later, I'm at the mystic grill shooting pool with Jeremy and waiting for Bonnie. A girl approaches us, and she looks familiar.
       "So how'd it go" the girl says to Jeremy.
       "What?" He questions her.
       "The paper" she says.
       "Oh I got an A. Thanks for the articles" Jeremy smiles and she nods.
       "Who is this?" She asks.
       "My best friend, Scarlett" Jeremy says.
       "Oh cool I'm Anna, it's nice to meet you" she says and I nod.
       "So what'd your teachers say about vampires? Did he believe it?" She says and I feel my stomach twist in knots.
        "I don't even believe it. It's just a paper Anna. Anyways I uh gotta go, see you later Scar" Jeremy says walking off and I nod. Anna follows behind him, and then Bonnie walks in. We sit at a table.
       "So we should talk about us" I say and she nods.
      "Scarlett I love you, and I would love to get on with our relationship. I'm sorry I've been distant" Bonnie says and I smile.
      "It's okay, I understand. I love you Bonnie I promise, you can trust me. I would never do anything to hurt you" I say and she smiles.

           I'm in my room getting ready for our school dance, the theme is 50s. I walk out of my room and walk into the library where Stefan and Damon are talking.
         "Is that dads journal?" I ask and Stefan nods.
        "And nowhere in it does it say anything about Katherine and the tomb, and how to open it" Stefan says and I roll my eyes.
"Of course it doesn't" I say.
"Man could barley even spell his own name" Damon says and I laugh.
"You know I could help you two" Stefan says and I look at him with a confused face.
"Why would you help us?" I ask Stefan.
"I'll do anything to get Damon out of this town. Even release Katherine" Stefan says. I scoff and shake my head.
"What about the other 26 vampires?" I question and Stefan shakes his head.
"No no, they can't come. They have to stay put, but Katherine, I would consider that." Stefan says.
"What are you doing? Hmm? What's your angle?" Damon asks Stefan.
"Think about it" Stefan says.
"Why I trust you?" Damon says.
"See that's your problem, Damon. If history's an indication, there's only one liar among us" Stefan says walking out of the room. Stefans phone rings and Damon picks it up.
"Stefan's phone. How may I help you?" Damon answers.
"Where is he?" Elena asks.
"He's on his way to you. Forgot his phone." Damon says.
"Oh thank god. This compass was spinning. Stefan must be here. Thank you." Elena says.
       "You're welcome" Damon says hanging up. "I have a weird feeling, let's go to Elena's" Damon says to me, and I nod. We head over to Elena's and we walk in. "What happened" Damon asks.
       "Some vampire tried attacking me" Elena says.
       "How'd he get in?" I ask.
        "He was invited in" Elena says.
        "He posed as a pizza delivery guy last night" Stefan says.
        "Well, he gets points for that. Did he say what he wanted?" Damon asks.
        "No, he was too busy trying to kill me" Elena says.
        "And you have no clue who this is?" Stefan questions Damon, and he shakes his head. Stefan doesn't look convinced by Damon's answer.
        "Don't look at me like that. I told you we had company" Damon says.
       "You think there's more than one?" Elena asks.
       "We don't know" I chime in.
       "Damon he was invited in" Stefan says and Damon and I nod.
       "Then we go get him tonight" I say.
      "You up for it?" Damon asks Elena.
       "What do I have to do?" Elena asks.
       "Let your boyfriend take you to the dance. We'll see who shows up" Damon says.
       "That's a bad idea" Stefan says and I roll my eyes.
       "Till we get him, this house isn't safe. For anyone that lives in it. It's worth a shot" I say.
       "I'll do it" Elena says. Damon and I nod. "I'll have you three to protect me" Elena says.
