Come In With The Rain

     Damon and I head to the car where Elena is patiently waiting and she gets out.
     "Where is he?!" Elena asks and I look at Damon.
     "They have him. We can't get in." Damon says.
    "Why?" Elena asks.
     "Because the woman who owns the house is compelled to not let us in" I say feeling defeated.
    "I can get in" Elena says.
    "You're not going in there" Damon says.
    "I'm going!" Elena screams.
    "Elena! No you're not! Now get back in the car" I say.
    "Why are they doing this?" Elena cries.
    "Revenge. They want revenge." Damon says. I look down at the gravel as the rain falls down.
   "We gotta do something" Elena says.
   "I know." Damon says.
  I hop in the back seat of the car and wait for the two to stop arguing. I watch the rain drops pour down and stream down the window. They both get in the car.

      We go to the high school where we spot Alaric. Alaric stops dead in his tracks and looks at Damon.
   "Well, don't you look... alive?" Damon says.
   "You can't hurt me" Alaric says.
   "Oh but I could" Damon says and I elbow him to tell him to shut up.
   "We just need your help" I say with pleading eyes. Alaric nods and we head into his classroom.

     "Stefan's in the house, Damon and Scarlett can't get in because they're vampires. I would go but" Elena says.
    "But her life is valuable and yours on the other hand is not" Damon says.
   "Stefan told me about your ring" Elena says.
   "Let me recap, you tried to kill me. I defended myself. You died. Then according to my brother that ring brought you back to life" Damon says.
    "Yeah. The part where I try to kill you again. Only this time I don't miss" Alaric says.
    "Listen, I know my brother is a dick but we need your help and we need to work together" I say.
    "I'm sorry Scarlett" Alaric says.
    "That's a shame. Because the woman in charge of the crowd can help you find your wife." Damon says.
    "You're lying" Alaric says.
    "Am I? Why don't you ask for yourself coward" Damon gets up and I follow. "Come on Elena" Damon says and she gets up following behind. As we're about to leave Alaric has a change of heart.
    "Wait! Okay alright" Alaric says I quickly turn around.

     Alaric pulls out a whole bunch of vampire weapons.
    "Teacher by day. Vampire hunter by night." Damon says.
   "I've got you to thank for that" Alaric says.
   "What are these?" Elena asks.
   "Those are tranquilizer darts filled with vervain" Alaric answers.
  "Just get Scarlet and I in. We'll get Stefan out" Damon says.
   "That's your plan? You two are just going to take them all out on your own?" Elena questions.
    "Yup" I say. Damon nods. Elena takes one of the vervain darts.
"What are you doing?" Alaric asks.
"I'm going with you guys" Elena says.
"No way" Damon says
    "Bad idea" I chime in.
   "You guys need me. I'll get in. You could distract them. I'll get Stefan" Elena says and I laugh.
  "You'll get yourself killed. You're not going in there." Damon says.
  "They can smell you from a mile away, so it's not that easy" I say.
  "So when you get me in, get out as quickly as possible. I know how to sneak around where they can't hear me. You'll basically just be in the way." Damon says looking at Elena.
   "What about me?" I say.
   "Scarlett you will stay in the car with Elena" Damon says and I scoff.
   "So I'm basically babysitting" I ask, and Damon nods. I shake my head.
   "I'm going in" I say, Damon gives in.
  "Fine" Damon says.
   "But I can't?" Elena asks.
  "No" Damon and I say in sync.
"You can drive the getaway car" I say and Damon nods in agreement.
"You can't stop me. It's Stefan we're talking about here. You don't understand." Elena says.
  "Oh, I understand. He's the reason you live. His love lifts you up where you belong, I get it." Damon teases and I laugh.
   "Can you not joke around for like two seconds?" Elena looks at Damon seriously.
   "I can't protect you Elena. We don't know how many vampires are in there" Damon snaps his fingers. "That's how long it takes you to get your head ripped off.  We have to be able to get in and get out. We can't be distracted with your safety . Or this will end up a bloodbath that none of us walk away from....including Stefan. I know. I get it. I understand." Damon says.
   "If we're going to go, let's go." Alaric chimes in.
