Jasper
The group is together, happy to finally be done a trial and be a little less clueless on the entire situation. We now knew how to handle generators, the hooking situation, and that this was all very real. I'm sure eventually all of us will have a moment to break down.
Silently we all know each other want to break down. However, no one wants to be the first to do it. We want to believe we're showing that we're strong. Why? Who knows. Weakness was scarier than ever now.
In a place like this, you need to be strong. Not only physically and emotionally, but mentally. Everything we were going to have to experience and go through from now on, will be life changing or ending. There was a huge change we would have to watch each other die.
Genuinely, I wondered how we even ended up in this mess. How did we end up getting chosen out of all the people in the world? What was it about us that made the Entity want us in this sick game? Maybe we will never know.
One day at a time we will learn more about everything, and one day at a time we will be stronger for each other and for what we need to do. I'm confident in not only them but myself. Together we will survive, at all costs.
I stared at my new companions, who chatted while they ate. Sharing stories and their lives with each other. It was like we knew each other forever. It was a nice feeling. I felt relaxed for the first time being here.
The girls eventually all began to make their way to their tents, forcing me to do the same. The fear of having one of those weird dreams weighed heavy on me. They couldn't be real... could they? Why was I able to see them without them seeing me?
I slipped into my sleeping bag, trying to find the courage to close my eyes. Did I want to close my eyes? No. However, the physical drain and stress from the trial brought my body to fight against my will. I felt my body slowly shut down, and my eyes flutter closed.I opened my eyes to find myself in the woods. The sound of flowing water filled my ears, drawing me to walk towards it. My hair blew as a strong breeze hit me as I stepped in front of a river, where Danny sat. He was alone this time, simply staring off at the water.
If memory served right, Frank would be appearing any minute. The two seemed to talk often and our trial had finished only two hours prior to me falling asleep.
As anticipated, Frank stepped out of the bushes a few feet beside me. He strut over to Danny and sat down beside him. I followed, taking a seat on the other side of Danny, keeping a foot between us but close enough to hear over the river.
"The trial... are you going to talk about it?" Danny asked, not even glancing at Frank.
Frank chuckled. "Yeah, I met your obsession."
"And?"
"And, she's not what I imagined." Frank replied.
At this, Danny looked at Frank intently. "What do you mean?"
"At first, I thought she was a scared mouse like everyone else." Frank paused. "However, she outsmarted me at the end."
Danny raised an eyebrow. "Did she?"
"Yeah, she ducked around my swings so many times. Tricked me into stepping into a corner and pushing stuff to block me in." Frank groaned. "She was even as fast as me, making it hard to catch up."
Danny smiled. "So I should be excited?"
Frank nodded. "I would be yes. Also, I have a personal question."
"I don't like those." Danny looked back at the river.
"There's another girl, and I can't get her off my mind since the trial."
Franks words caught my attention, causing me to scoot a little closer to make sure I'd hear everything clearly.
"Continue." Danny grumbled.
"She... I couldn't find it in me to kill her." Frank sighed. "It's the first time ever, I just couldn't do it."
Danny's smile returned. "So it's your first rodeo?"
Frank furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Have you had that happen?"
Danny shook his head. "No but, whenever I have an obsession... it's for a reason."
Franks eyes widened. "What reason?"
"I'm not sure the exact reason. The last time I had an obsession, they could also sense me, as if we had a connection." Danny muttered, seeming saddened.
"So do you think Jasper and you have a connection?" Frank asked.
"Yeah, but it's different this time."
"Different?"
"I feel weird. I feel like I need to see her, I need to be around her. I haven't even met her Frank, what's gonna happen when I meet her?" Danny questioned, his eyes darting back to Frank.
"Maybe the same thing that happened to me."
Danny and Frank fell into a silence, both looking off at the river, seeming both lost in thought. I stared at Danny, examining his features. Why was I the chosen one? Why can I see them? Is this even real?
Danny glanced towards me, causing me to freeze and hold my breath. I already knew they couldn't see me, but someone it seemed like Danny was looking into my eyes instead of through me.
"Frank, we can't tell anyone about this." Danny murmured.
Frank sighed and put his head in his hands. "I know Danny, I know."
Danny turned back to face Frank. "Do you think they will find out about the bridge?"
I tilted my head in curiosity. The bridge?
Frank shrugged. "What would we even do if they did? Surely they wouldn't wonder away from camp and then cross a random bridge."
Danny smiled at him. "But if they do?"
Frank looked back at him. "I wouldn't know what to do. Anyone can catch us."
"As if any of the other killers come to the river. They stay near their cabins."
Frank dipped his head. "Still, Michael's cabin isn't too far off. He could hear if something loud were to happen."
Danny glanced back at me. "I think they'll know not to scream. You said it yourself, you didn't kill that girl, what's her name?"
"Arianna." Frank replied, causing my jaw to drop.
"Wouldn't she know you're not a threat then?"
"But she doesn't know you."
"I have a feeling she will know I'm safe."
Frank raised an eyebrow at Danny. "How do you know that?"
"Because Jaspers watching us right now."
