A/N: Yeah. Yeah. IK  IK... "Kody. stop writing stories you'll forget about" but this one was planned long before I even started this acc! There's going to be a Yuri X Natsuki one soon. I need a good title for that one though aha. But anyway I'm probably going to put music links to what I think best would fit in (maybe) each chapter.

Also, this story is completely from Monika's POV. Unless told otherwise. If it says "Sayori POV" in one chapter then it's Sayori's POV. However, if it has a random title it should be in Monika's pov.

Just for clarification, this chapter takes place when they were in 8th grade. The other chapters will probably be in their senior year of high school.

ANYWAY enjoy <3.

I fell back from the force of being pushed down. I hit the ground with a groan, feeling my legs get scratched by the rough concrete. Looking up at who I thought were my friends, I felt tears form.

"Awe is Monika gonna cry?" Yuki, who had snow white hair and frozen blue eyes along with a soft brown skin tone stood before me.

He was my best friend until he became close friends with Kumori and Katsumi. Kumori was a tall guy, also one of the most known kids within the grade. He had black hair and brown eyes with light pale skin. Katsumi was a girl, of average height with long, soft red hair. Her eyes shined green. She used to also be a close friend of mine until she also became known to be friends with Kumori.

I lost both of my friends to this boy, and I had no choice but to accept it. We were in middle school, 6th grade at the time. I never understood how Yuki and Katsumi could change so suddenly within a year. The 1-5th grade was perfect, but 6th to 7th was hell. They turned everything they did wrong at me and made it seem like it was my fault.

A few moments while I was leaving school alone, I heard Yuki call my name. I thought he'd be an asshole like he usually was however he apologized for his behavior, and I thought it was sincere. But once he grabbed my uniform collar and threw me onto my back I knew it was to get a laugh out. He leaned down and grabbed a piece of my coral brown hair and pulled it, glancing around to make sure no one else saw. I tried kicking him away in panic after seeing him take a pair of scissors from his pocket.

Katsumi held my hair back to give Yuki more variety to cut. I felt my body freeze up as Yuki began cutting my hair. I stayed still in shock, seeing most of my hair fall to the ground. When he finished cutting he kicked into my chest and I fell back, my arms instinctively going behind me to catch me. My hands scratched onto the concrete.

I stared up at him, tears finally falling. He looked back in satisfaction; laughing with Katsumi and Kumori. They turned to walk off and I looked down at my hair, quickly wiping my eyes. I let my hands feel at the hair on my head on how short it was and I felt my breath catch from surprise. He cut it.

A/N If you need a visual of what Monika now looks like then here:

I felt something grab my shoulder; thinking it was Yuki, I tried shoving them away

I felt something grab my shoulder; thinking it was Yuki, I tried shoving them away. I let out a soft, guilty sigh when I saw a girl with short salmon hair and blue eyes. She had a small red bow in her hair. She flinched back nervously and then hesitantly helped me up.

"Are you okay..?" She spoke. Her voice was soft, reassuring. I took another glance at her while trying to calm down.

This girl was in one of my classes; only I never knew her name. She sat in the back of my math class behind me. She was never called on and never raised her hand. She usually stayed quiet unless she was with her friends. I felt her wrap her arms around me.

"I.." I couldn't say anything and began crying.

She didn't say a word either, just tugged at my sleeve and pulled me. We walked along the sidewalk together; I followed wherever she turned. We walked for a few minutes before She brought me to a park, we both sat on the swings together. I had gotten the time to calm myself down. We both stayed silent; she let her legs hang.

"I'm Sayori." She said suddenly, then looked over at me with a welcoming smile.

I took a second before letting my smile appear.

"I'm Monika," I replied, swinging my legs while holding onto the side of my swing.

"What... happened back there?" She asked. I shrugged, not knowing how to answer. I honestly didn't know. I never knew he'd go this low. He began bullying me at the end of 5th grade; with the excuse, 'it's just a joke.' Then it progressively got worse in 6th grade to now.

"That was one of my old best friends. Not sure what happened to him." I said. "Yuki." I continued.

"He was like a brother to me until the 6th-grade year." I looked down and remembered all the memories I had with Yuki; throwing powdered sugar at each other, playing video games, teasing each other.

"I'm sorry. I understand where you're coming from." Sayori placed her hand on my shoulder and I glanced; tilting my head.

"I lost my closest friend a few weeks ago, his name was Sato." She continued, I listened closely.

She talked about how they were best friends the moment they were born but he completely changed his personality this year. He was the sweetest boy and just suddenly began caring more for other people than her. Ignoring her, and even humiliating her in front of his new friends.

We both shared personal experiences about who we thought were amazing friends, but once they changed we understood there was nothing we could do about it. We had to accept the person that we used to know was not there anymore.

"Yeah. I guess people change. We won't ever get them back. Not who we thought they were." I said, letting out a long sigh. With that sigh, I imagined letting go of who I thought Yuki and Katsumi were.

I looked up, hearing an ice cream truck in the distance.

"Stay here." She said while getting up, opening up the bag she had with her. She skipped off as the truck pulled up to the park.

She wandered back with two ice cream cones and held one out.

"Let's hang out for a while longer."

I smiled and took it from her.

Yeah. She's defiantly going to be my friend.
