"Don't fear what is to come.
Don't mourn what has been.
Embrace what life has in store, no matter the risk to take. For in the end regret is the worst enemy one has other than time."

-my own little quote

925 AD England

Aurora lay near a river on a meadow looking up into the sky. Sometimes little clouds would pass by and she guessed what animal they looked like. The sun felt warm upon her sun kissed skin, birds sang around her and the flowing water of the river relaxed every cell of her body. Her long golden hair was sprawled out across the grass and flowers she lay on. How long did she already lie here? She did not know and she didn't care.
Too precious were those moments when she was free to do as she wanted.

Any time soon one of her brothers would come to bring her back to the village and tell her that she shouldn't walk around alone because wild animals or strangers could hurt her. How stupid ! She grumbled quitly everytime they said that. Her brothers Rolf and Gaven were always allowed to go alone through the forest or to villages.

Only because she was a girl she had to be guarded and protected all the time, but she was able to protect herself. Even though her mother always told her father not to teach her how to use a sword. He didn't listen and taught her a few times a week how to fight with it. If her mother knew of that though she would keep her home until she was married.
All the while probably saying things about her boyish behaviour and bold ways she'd might regret when the time came. Aurora knew that she was a little different than most girls who desperately wanted to be married and have children to give birth to. But she didn't feel like she was ready for all of that. Why the rush? She was barely eighteen summers old.

"I knew you would be here my little flower. How did you escape this time? Rolf and mother are searching everywhere for you again."

She heard her eldest brother Gaven, noticing that he has lain himself down on the grass next to her.

She loved Gaven dearly. He was the only one who respected her wish for freedom for once in a while. Although he also was against her father teaching her the art of swordship reasoning that he would always be near her so nothing and nobody could ever harm her. He was always the one Aurora would run to if she felt lonely or if she just needed somebody to talk to.

Gaven was a handsome man as her friends said it all the time. He was very tall and muscular because of his work at home. His hair was golden just like hers.
Unlike her other brother Rolf who had dark brown hair the same as their mother.

But Rolf and Aurora shared the same vibrant green eyes while Gaven had warm brown ones from their father.

"As much as I enjoyed to lie in the middle of nowhere with you Aurora. We need to go back or mother will send the whole village to search for us."

Gaven said standing up and held a hand out for her.
She unwillingly put her small hand into his big one and started walking back home with him. As soon as they arrived her mother wasalready heard from a mile and running towards her. Here it goes again Aurora thought irritated, now her mother would overreact again.

"Aurora where have you been? We searched for you everywhere. Don't you remember what we told you about going away without a companion?"

Her mother half screamed and hugged her in a tight embrace . She was overprotective, but she was a loving and caring person. Even if Aurora couldn't handle it sometimes she still loved her mother wholeheartly. She could see Gaven smirking beside them as he tried to surpress a chuckle.

Still her mother seemed to notice the hidden amusement of her eldest son and abruptly let go of Aurora only to face Gaven with an angry expression. Gaven's smile dissapeared in an instant as he held his hands up as a sign of surrender, but too late. Her mother was already furious with Gaven because she knew that her son could have brought her back soon.
