"Sometimes love finds us, when our hope is fading. When everything seems lost and bound to die. It leads us safely through the darkest nights, when the moon fills the endless sky. As it blossoms it grows and its sparkling light is enough to heal the wounded soul."

Finally Eirik and his men could see their aim . Days without earth under their feets , women in their beds and real food has made them eager to reach land .
The land which was known as England was rich of money and weapons , maybe they would capture a few slaves .He loved his life as the Jarl : killing , fighting and travelling across the sea . These were the things Vikings like him were made for . Sure there were also men who enjoyed the life of a farmer , but he wasn't made for that .
The wide blue sea , the salty wind and foreign lands to discover . That's all he wanted .
But soon , hopefully not too soon his life would change according to his father's will .He wanted him to marry the daughter of his friend Ragnar who already bothered him since she arrived three summers ago or else he would lose his position as a Jarl . The woman he should take as his wife was quite a beauty and other men surely wanted her as their own , but not Eirik . To him she was just like all the other women , well not counting a few exceptions like Inga or Randalin , who were tough warriors and ever by his side .
No Magna wasn't like them she was only interested in his wealth and status .
He had spoken a few times with her , but she didn't catch his interest in any way the way she spoke and the way she acted made him realize that she would never be an option for a wife . She liked to talk about clothes and other people a lot , an annoying habit as he thought .He would rather stay willingly on the ship , than go back to a wife he was more than bored with . Everytime he came home with his men , they would jump into the water as soon as they saw their women .
Something Eirik envied them of sometimes . In his whole life never had a woman made him feel like he wanted to marry her or even spend the rest of the night in the same bed . And to say he hadn't had his fine share of women was an understatement , normally he wouldn't say no to a woman, who was willingly to share one night with him, but that's it ONE NIGHT ! Not a life time .
There were so many beautiful women in the world how could he ever be able to find only one he would be happy with? How should he be faithful if there were many temptations on his countless journeys? He was questioning himself, if he would ever settle down and start a family . But that wasn't important right now. Today he and his men would finally arrive and increase their provisions.
"Why are you glaring at the sea as if it stole your favorite possession my friend?"
Rollo, his first mate, asked Eirik standing next to him while looking at the coast before them.Rollo was a good man , a fierce warrior, but an even better friend for Eirik. One of the few people he really trusted. But could he tell him about his fathers wishes to finally take a wife and worse , that his fiance was already chosen? On the other hand if he couldn't tell Rollo whom else.
"It's about my father. He gave me an ultimatum."
Eirik said. His voice showed anger but also lingering sadness, his eyes still focused everywhere else than his friend."Then tell me about it Eirik, you know you can ask for my advice at any time ." Rollo replied with forrowed brows now looking at his friend and leader.
If only it were so easy, Eirik already knew what Rollo was about to say , if he said that he is to take a wife. Because Rollo himself told him several times before to settle down with a woman and have children clinging to his legs. But never the less Eirik decided to tell him , knowing Rollo wouldn't give up till he knew what was the reason behind his behaviour.
