"No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path."

-Buddha

"Only this time. After that you will come with me willingly or by force."

The words of the fearsome viking kept repeading themself over and over in her head. Was that supposed to be her destiny? Being abducted by a wild man, into a cruel world were she surely wouldn't be more than a slave for them. And only God knew what else she would have to face.

Aurora may be young, but she wasn't blind nor dumb. She understood what men want from young women. She only needed to remember the fate of the girl Frieda* and knew that she would rather die than let a viking or worse many vikings lay their filthy hands upon her body.

Also it wasn't uncommon, or at least that's what she heard, to be sold as a slave on a dirty market where randome people would buy her as toy for their amusement. Only the devil knew what wicked things that were .

She recalled the stories about the vikings and their ruthless ways when they attacked a village. It was said that they killed almost all the residents only a few were taken and brought to their home countrie as slaves.

When she was younger she always tried to defend them against her people and everybody who would talk bad about them. She never thought that anybody could be so cold-blooded. Well that was her opinion till she herself was kidnapped by one of those told to be heartless vikings. She was a naive girl to actually believe that her peaceful life would last forever, she thought.

Her feets burned from exhaustion the way back home was even more demanding since the viking made her walk so fast. His steps were double as long as hers so it was quite hard to keep up with him. He didn't say a word through the whole way at all. Maybe he meant it as some kind of punishment although she was quite thankful for the calming silence.

If he wouldn't be this big and strong she probably would have tried to punch him again, but she knew it would be useless. Cursed should be her height and lack of strength . She was fast, but it didn't give her any advantage towards him though. Even if she'd success there would be no place to hide from him.
There was no way of escaping she was forced to wait for a suitable oppurnity to show up.
Hopefully soon.

Captived in the hold of the viking Aurora finally could see her village. Screams were heard from afar. The houses she knew since she was a small girl were now burning in bright flames. The smoke blurred her vision, but still she could see the violence the vikings took out upon her home town.

Her heart broke while hearing little children crying and searching for their parents. A few tried to hide while others were struggling to escape. It was an arrow shot right into her heart to see her friends and all the people she knew running away scared for their lifes.

"Why .....why are you doing this!"
She started to whisper, but ended up screaming the last part.

Her face red with anger and fists balled tight on her sides. She wouldn't have hit him under normal circumstance, but her emotions were too much to handle. Frantic she began to struggle again sobbing harder and harder.

It didn't take much afford to hold the feisty beauty in place, but it took all his strength to see the little angel in his arms so broken. Her beautiful face was covered in tears and the soft noises of desperation were knives into his soul.

What was wrong with him? He had heard many women cry before especially the ones he had left after fullfilling his needs back  home. Almost every one of them tried to convince him to stay, but none succeeded. They knew what awaited them and still tears appeared everytime. At that time he'd just sigh and tell them to stop there foolish behaviour, but this one was different. Every cell in his body told him to protect this little creature. Odin help him!
