Chapter 2

Jade's pov*
So it's been at least a week since I've been staying at my new foster home and to be honest I'm waiting for the shoe to drop. Like I'm so used to the hitting, the screaming, things being thrown that's what I'm used to not this I'm waiting for something to happen. Also I have yet to meet any of they're family or friends really the only thing I know really is that Maya's dad isn't really a great father. Do they plan on giving me back is that why I don't know anything about they're friends and family. I have yet to speak to them except for that one time and I still wear a jacket around them because I don't want them to see the bruises or scars but I'm sure the bruises are healed.
"Bambina ive been calling your name for a while is everything okay" asked Carina nearly scaring me in the process.
"Oh I'm sorry sweetie I didn't mean to scare you but are you okay" asked Carina as she sat down on the floor right next to me.
"Are you guys upset that I don't speak" I asked desperately needing to know because I feel like I'm disappointing them and I'm not really sure to be honest.
"Of course not bambina but is there a reason why you don't" asked Carina gently as she let me play with the ring on her fingers.
"I have a slight stuttering problem it used to make all my old foster parents mad" I explained.
"Well you don't have to worry about with Maya and i speaking of Maya let's go see her before she heads off to work" said Carina as she stood up and then helped me up.
"Good morning bella" said Carina as she gave maya a kiss who was making herself a smoothie I think.
"Good morning babe and good morning little one" said Maya as she poured the drink into one of those cups things.
"Are you about to head out" asked Carina.
"Yeah if you guys want to stop by later you can I don't mind if our jadey is okay with it" explained Maya.
"Uh that's fine with me can I see the trucks" I answered.
"Of course sweetie now I better get going I don't want to be late love you both try not to have to much fun without me or I'll be sad" said Maya as she gave Carina a kiss on the cheek and then patted my head making me smile.
"I wonder if she knows that means you have to meet her team or well her family or I'm not really sure how to explain it they are best friends but they are like her family" explained Carina.
"Do you guys not want me to meet your friends or family" I asked a little afraid of the answer.
"Of course we want you to meet our friends bambina it's just they are a little bit crazy we didn't want them to overwhelm you or scare you" explained Carina.
"Oh I thought it was cause you weren't planning on keeping me much longer" I said feeling a little stupid for having thought that of course they didn't want me getting overwhelmed.

Maya's pov*
"Welcome back Cap is there a reason why you took a week off" asked Vic as I walked into the beanery where my team was hanging out at for the time being until I assign them chores and what not.
"Carina and I needed to figure a few things out that's why there's some changes going on and I figured I could take some time off to take care of it" I answered I mean it's not necessarily a lie but it isn't the full truth. They knew that we were wanting to start a family but that's it honestly. Carina and I figured it would be better to adopt because yeah we aren't getting any younger but we are currently both in our early thirties.
"Are you guys getting divorced" asked Andy who looked a little concerned. Okay so maybe I should have worded that sentence a little better but you know what it's already been said.
"No of course not I love Carina more than anything in this world I don't think I'd be able to divorce her" I answered truthfully.
"Oh thank god I think it would be hard to stop being friends with you Maya" said Jack making me confused.
"Why would you stop being friends with me if Carina and I get divorced" I asked getting upset.
"Because obviously it would be your fault Maya we all know Carina loves you more than anything hell she took you back after you cheated on her in the beginning of the relationship " laughed Jack.
"Jack is being stupid just ignore him he thinks he's being funny" said Andy as she smacked the back of his head.
"But why would it be my fault for all we know it could be a mutual decision between the both of us" I asked.
"Maya I didn't necessarily mean it like that but we all know your track records with relationships even friend wise didn't you and Andy stop being friends for a couple of months because you got Captain and she didn't. You like too destroy things before it progresses" explained Jack.
"Great well you get to be on bathroom duty and desk duty for the week if anyone needs me I'll be in my office" I said as I grabbed my cup of coffee and headed into my office to see how much paperwork I needed to do.
"Wait for me Mai I needed to talk to you about something" said Andy as she walked into the office with me.
"I'm all ears Andy" I said as I sat down and looked through some of the files before realizing that I won't be able to be on any scenes today because there so much paperwork to do.
"Okay what seems to be the problem Andy" I asked as I gave her my full attention in case this was important.
"Have you ever had feelings for your best friend" asked Andy.
"I mean you are my best friend Andy and I didn't necessarily have time growing up to consider if I liked girl or not my dad was too strict with the whole track thing so I had to stay focused and wasn't allowed to have anything that he considered a distraction. Why do you think you have feelings for one of your friends" I asked.
