It was a Saturday in the middle of July, we were on our summer vacation and Andrew was supposed to be here by now to come pick me up so we could get going to the beach. We planned this for a while so we could convince our parents to let us go. Well that and so we could figure out what we wanted to do while we were there.

I wanted to play volleyball and go swimming and tan a bit. Didn't wanna look like a ghost during summer.

Andrew on the other hand, he wanted to play tennis since our local beach had a tennis court, i suck at tennis so i said no to that idea so he suggested we try to surf since we had some pretty good waves, i agreed to it since he was pretty good and he wanted to teach me since last time i failed to learn. Anyways back to what we were saying, we always wanted to go together and since we never had we decided to go this summer. Every other summer, there was either camp or a vacation to Europe or America. So this was finally it. He arrived a few minutes late since he forgot a towel and had to drive back to get one since he never liked my beach towels. They were too 'small' or 'girly' . I heard him knock and I answered, I had everything sitting by the front door so we could just leave. "Hey Marcia you take forever hurry up" Andrew said jokingly

"I'm trying doesn't help i packed the food and you aren't helping with the cooler" i said smiling "i'm almost there"

As I was setting the cooler down to open the truck he locked the doors, oh fun Andrew was playing pranks again but nope, he wouldn't open until I threatened to put a nail in front of his tire. He unlocked the doors and I opened the trunk placing a majority of what I had with me. He started to drive away after I placed the stuff there but before I could get in the car. He was laughing, I could see, he eventually stopped so I could get in.

That's how our friendship worked, we would joke all the time, it was great, I couldn't ask for better. Anyways when we got there we parked and started to unload the trunk, i made him carry the cooler now since he didn't when we placed it here. Also i couldn't really carry it since i had put a lot in there and it was heavy.

After a few hours of being there we decided to go for a swim since we wanted to cool off from playing volleyball. I wasn't a great swimmer but I managed for myself, and it was pretty nice. But little did we know things were gonna take a turn, we saw some girl drowning and the lifeguard wasn't paying attention, some lifeguard he was... Andrew was the better swimmer so he swam out to her as fast as he could, he did save her and we were all grateful, she was amazingly beautiful, she had blonde hair a little above the shoulders and was quite tan. Her eyes were a shade of green.

I could tell Andrew was going to fall for her, I just could. it hurts to admit since i liked him but i know he sees me as a younger sister if anything... When she regained consciousness she thanked him, and smiled at him. Soon after he asked for her number and she did give it to him, I didn't want to seem jealous so I made fun of him after a little bit. It was funny to see him act all weird.

On the way back walking to the car, it was around 9pm now he started to speak, i didn't know what about but i think it was about that girl again. He didn't even know her name. "Hey marcia"

"Yea? Whats up"

"I think im inlove with that girl," he started to "she's just amazing, and hot too but she has a great personality"

"You don't even know her name yet" i told him "just wait to see if shes all thats on your mind, who knows maybe she'll be your first girlfriend"

"Shush she might still be around" he said "i don't want her to hear"

I just laughed at him quietly since i hadn't seen him like this before i swear i used to think he was gay when we were in 7th grade. He'd never liked anyone, or at least not that i knew. I've known him since he moved here. We met at school and then kept seeing each other at the park a few blocks away.
