- Julian’s Point Of View -

I hadn’t seen Jade in three weeks. I wanted to get in my car and drive over right away just to pull her small frail body into my arms while hoping to the heavens that she wouldn’t leave me but I couldn’t even bring myself to get out of my own bed. Three weeks I had been lying in my bed, refusing to leave my room. Jayden would set a plate of food outside my door every morning and evening but I would never eat more then a few bites. I pressed my face in to the softness of my feather pillow; I had done this so many times my face was imprinted in my pillow. A slight dampness touched my cheeks; salty tears I had cried merely minutes ago had soaked in to the case.

Had I done the right thing by leaving Jade alone in her room? I was barely coping with what she had told me, I couldn’t even fathom how she was feeling. I rolled on to my back looking up at my boring white ceiling, fresh tears slowly slid down my cheeks. Even if I wanted to go back, would she even take me after what I did? I just left her there. Alone.

“Get up you whining sod.” Will’s voice rang through my silent room. I slowly sat up. My movements were somewhat similar to that of a zombie. “Mate you look dead. Just go and bloody see her!” He continued; it was simple to tell he had been watching Harry Potter. He had a fake British accent on. Will sat down on the bed near me when I never replied or even smiled at him. “Jules what’s going on?” He asked in a brotherly voice.

“Jade’s got Cancer. She told me three weeks ago, why didn’t she tell me when we first started dating?” My voice sounded strange to my ears, like it hadn’t been used but that could be because I haven’t spoken much, only shed tears. Will touched my shoulder while he gave me a sad smile. His eyes were wise and all knowing, just like his fathers.

“Did you ever think about why she didn’t tell you? Maybe she didn’t tell you because she was getting better and didn’t want to worry you mate.” Will spoke while slightly smiling but that faded when realization hit him. “That mean’s she’s-“ I stood up before he could finish speaking. She had told me because she needed to. I could feel my heart breaking all over again as I was hit in the face with the truth like an ocean wave crashing down on the seaside rocks. I had to see her.
