6. A hearty tip

Back to Aubriana's P.O.V.

A few minutes after I left Sir.Billiam to his devices, he came back out and handed me the notebook. I took it from him checking everything over to be sure it had everything I needed.

"Alright, so your total will be... 65 silver coin, if you want you can pay half now and half later so that your reassured quality" I said with a smile

The man tilted his head a bit. "Seriously? That's what your charging?"

My smile drops a bit "Yes?"

The man scoffs "oh please, your helping out the right hand of the king, like I'm only paying you 65 silver."

I shake my head "Your not the only person today to question my payments, but I'll have to ask you to keep the amount I ask for."

The man huffs as he reaches for a pouch "You said the amount you asked for correct?"

I nod "Yes, just the 65"

He then reaches into the pouch and pulls out 65 gold coins and places them on the counter before abruptly leaving.

My eyes widen to the size of saucers "HEY-"

"Sorry I have to go find my associates good day. someone will be by tomorrow or the day after for everything" he says before rushing out the door.

Oh that prick! I can't believe he gave me 65 gold coins...I don't think I've ever even seen that many in one place! Well...not in person anyways.

I blow a raspberry as I delicately grab the coins; taking them into minx's office.

As I open the door she looks up from her cup that I assume she got from upstairs. "What do you have there?" She says placing the cup on her desk.

I huff "First of all, jerk move leaving me with a bunch of hooded strangers. ALONE. I thank you for your kindness, twat."

She smiles wide and gives an exaggerated bow, well as exaggerated as she could while sitting "My pleasure"

I roll my eyes "Second." I then place the coins on her desk causing her eyes to go wide.

"The big guy, Billiam, he gave us 65 gold rather than the 65 silver I asked for. He said it's because we're helping the right hand of the king."

She stood from her chair "HOLY SHIT WAS THAT GUY NUTS??" She picks up the coins "IVE NEVER HELD THIS MUCH MONEY BEFORE!!"

"I know but it feels wrong to take it from him, i mean the guy only got a cape! Plus the two bandanas, but those aren't too hard! It feels like I just robbed someone "

Becca looked me in the eye "well we better get to work on their stuff; I don't want any of them' cloaked fuckers comin in askin for this back."

I nodded "I think I'm going to give them a bit more than what they ordered too. They were weird yeah but they weren't bothering us. They seemed nice enough and they payed way too much." I said as Becca placed the coins in a safe by her desk.

She sighed stretching "welp, we'd better get started if we want to finish by the time someone comes for pick up; when did they say? Couple days? Plus you've gotta figure that compass shit out"

I waved a hand at her as I turned to walk out "yeah yeah I'm goin I'm goin"

As I walked across the hall to the workroom, I could help but let my mind wonder.

I can't believe he just randomly threw around gold like that; I mean come on that's a lot of money!!

I used the notebook from earlier to begin sketching out a pattern for the new cloak.

I guess that's what happens when you work for the top dog. High risk, high reward. I wonder what other 'missions' these guys have been on. I'll have to ask later.

I walked over to our over stock fabrics and pulled out a cheap woven fabric to make my experimental cloak out of. As I placed It on the table, the sound of music began to float through the air.

"Figured we could use some background music, you seem to work better when it's on" Becca says as she goes to sit at her work station; the two bandanas and compasses in hand.

I nod as the music makes me smile.

Becca p.o.v

As Aubrey cuts and sews; I start lookin at the scraps I have in-front of me. Good lord what the fuck are these little shits doing in their free time???

She looks over at me "oh, those need a gentle wash; they want them to stay the same but I think they still need a cleaning"

I groan " lord this shits about to be tedious." She smiles as she looks back down at her work. I stood up and walked over to our water basin in the corner, getting a small bowl from a cabinet, and filling it.

"I was thinking" Aubrey says as she works "what if we enchanted the compasses, I mean nothing crazy, just place a lodestone shard in side of either one and then attach each compass to the oppose stones and make like a tracker type thing. So those boys can always find each other ya know? I'd have to show them how to do a temporary disenchantment so they can still use it as a compass but-"

"You sure do like all that enchantments n' hybrids n' magic stuff. A few years back you like to never talk about it. Gods, now I can't shut your arse up." I say as I slowly start to dip the bandanas into the water; watching as the dirt and stuff lifts off.

I hear Aubrey chuckle. "I well you know, I had to get over all that stuff eventually. Plus, mom and dad didn't spend their whole life writing up those journals for nothing."

I smiled "still have all 7?"

She laughed "haven't misplaced one since I got them"

Ok I hope the music thing isn't too confusing. I thought if it is like Becca playing music disc but on that like fancy one with the megaphone looking thing on it but it's in her office not in like the work room so it's kind of like a distant music sound anyways, hope you enjoyed :
