Bedtime Story

(this is after the uppermoon meeting and around 6 AM)

Akaza

All my sweet pups, only about a week old. It's their bedtime and I have the perfect story to tell them.
"Kaede settle down it's time for bed, you too Akemi! You both are so naughty and can't even walk yet!"
"You two better listen to your mother, or you get a scary bedtime story"
"They can't even understand you Douma"
"I don't care, it's 5:30 AM"
"Whatever, I've got the perfect story in mind!

Storytime

Douma was walking to my bedroom to ask if I wanted to go with him to the moon fall. Also because my favorite band was going to be there. Thankfully their demons, so we had nothing to worry about.
"C'mon it's 6:50! You need to get out of the castle at some point!"
"Fine. As long as no one else comes with"
"Don't worry, it's going to be like a date!"
"Oh well you should've said so"
"Whatever let's just go"
To be honest with you, I had no clue where Douma was taking me though I acted like I did. We ended up at this really pretty lake with the most gorgeous blossoms I'd ever seen. The lake had a reflection of a rainbow and there were whitish- beige blossoms.
"It reminds me of you"
"Me? How so?"
"Well for starters, you've got the prettiest rainbow eyes and the silkiest blond hair. Your smile has to be my favorite part about you though"
"Oh, I hadn't realized you noticed so much about me Akaza!"
"Well I love you, why wouldn't I?"
"I dunno but I love you too!"
We just sat there, in comfortable silence watching the moon rise. I feel comfortable with Douma, I don't know how or when I realized this but I really do.
The moon was fully rised and Douma was shuffling through his pants pockets.
"Whatcha looking for?"
"Something important."
"Well can I know what it is?"
"I'm sorry but no, it's a secret"
"Oh..."
By this I felt hurt? I never really felt like this though, especially from Douma.
He stood up to go look for whatever it was around where we were walking.
"Are you sure I can't help you look for whatever it is?"
"Yes I'm sure Akaza. Oh I found it!"
"Alright"
He came back to sit down next to me. I had my knees up to my chest and my arms around my knees with my face tucked towards them. Looking towards the moon, I didn't realize Douma was getting down on his knee with.. a black box?
He looked at me with those same pretty rainbow eyes he's always had, and he tapped my shoulder to make me pay attention.
He opened the black box and asked.
"I've met many people in my lifetime but your the greatest out of them all. Akaza you make me the happiest demon alive, will you marry me?"
I sat there speechless, excited and happy just speechless.
"Oh my god, the- the ring! It's so beautiful!"
"What do you say?"
"Yes! Of course I will!"
He broke out into the happiest smile and so did I. Did he just propose? Am I dreaming? I never thought the day would come!
But of course, the moment was ruined when multiple hashiras showed up. Why now?! Couldn't this happen some other night?
"Demons! Surrender your lives or we'll kill you with no mercy! That butterfly one shouted.
Douma answered back to them.
"Whyd you come now. This has to be the worst time to show up"
"And why would that be uppermoon 2!
"Because."
I told Douma to tell them so he did just to make me happy.
"Tell them"
"Whatever you wish. Alright so this has to be the worst time because this was the one night we got to spend ALONE without missions. Especially because I just proposed??"
"You demons don't deserve happiness! We don't care!" That's what the scarred one said. Like hes one to talk. Who goes around hating their brother for wanting to be like him.
"We'll surrender if all of you leave." Douma said, obviously lying.
"How do we know your not lying demon!"
"Because. You just do"
They didn't end up leaving, we had to beat their asses for them to leave fully.
"Now back to before, Douma, I will marry you!"
We were so happy, I jumped into Douma's arms crying. I couldn't be happier!
"We should plan the wedding, when should it be?" Douma was first to break the happy silence and tears.
"Next year on this exact date"
"Anything for you, Akaza"
Him just saying my name gives me butterflies right now. I was just too happy to not get butterflies.

End of story

3rd Person

"Well my beautiful children. Oh, their already asleep"
"Douma! Where'd he go.."

Douma walked into the room that Akaza was in and hugged him from behind, and around his waist.
"It's been a long day, hmm? We should get to bed before it gets too late otherwise we'll be tired in the morning." Akaza turned around and looked at Douma.
"You're right, let's go" That's what Akaza said while running his fingers through Douma's long, blonde hair.

And with that they went right to bed.
