"Where's Ysabelle?" I heard dad asking mom where I am.
"Dad! I'm here in the car!" I shouted. I heard them laughing after I shouted, maybe they can't just help but to laugh for the reason that I am eager to be here in the car because I'm too excited to visit our Lolo and Lola.
We are going to our province, kung saan nakatira ang magulang ng parents ko.
"Silly my daughter , too excited to see your Lolo and Lola again hmm?" Dad says to me the moment he enter the car.
"Yes Daddy, let's go. I have too many stories to tell to them. I wanted to taste the foods that Lolo always cook for me." I answered. Dad and mom laughs at me again.
"Yes honey, we'll get going okay. Fasten your seatbelt please." Dad says as he starts the engine.
We took an hour or two before we reached my parent's hometown where my grand parents live. Because of the long drive I doze off to sleep and when Mom woke me up we already arrive in our destination.
"Honey wake up. We're already here." Mom said while brushing my hair.
"Hmmmm....a-are we already h-here *yawn* mom?" I asked as soon as I open my eyes.
"Yes sweetie, we're here. Common, I know you're too excited to see them." Mom says.
My face brighten as soon as i heard that, I quickly go out from the car and shouted.
"lOLO! lOLA! ANDITO NA PO KAMI!"
I look around because I didn't see them. I spread my arms up and feel the cold wind that embrace me.
"The wind here was always different from the wind in our place. This will always be one of the reasons why I wanted to be here." I said that in my mind.
The bird chirping, the wind blowing, the smiling cloud, the forest in the back of their house and the dancing flowers in their garden made me feel that I am home.
While mesmerizing with the beauty of the nature, a hug from the back stop me from my momentum. I immediately smiled because I recognized her smell.
"Lola, andito na po kayo." I hugged her tight the moment I saw her smiling face.
"Grabe ang higpit ng yakap apo. Namiss mo ba ang lola ng sobra hmmm?" I giggle as she teases me.
"Palagi ko po kayong namimiss lola, even though nagkita po tayo last month. Madami po akong ikkwento sa inyo." I started telling the experience I had for a month that we didn't see each other.
We start chatting while we're on her vegetable garden. I help her picking some vegetables for our lunch.
As soon as we finish, we go back to their house which is just a stone's throw.
"By the way Lola, nasaan po si lolo? Hindi ko pa po sya nakikita. " I asked her.
"Nandito na sya mayamaya lamang. Kumukuha lamang sya ng paborito mong meryenda sa kaingin." She replied.
Kaingin is their ways of pampalipas oras. They planted many vegetables and other there, kaya pwede nading sabihin na doon sila kumukuha ng panustos nila sa kanilang everyday life though their children gave them enough money and foods for a month.
"Yehey! sweet potato!" I excitedly exclaimed. Lola looked at me so lovely, that she's happy top see me being excited with the little things that they did.
"Oo apo, alam mo namn si lolo mo. Alam nya na paboirito mo ang pinirito at nilabon na kamote. Hayaan mo at maya maya lamang ay nandito na yun."
We already reach their house and I help her to wash the vegetables that we pick in their garden and wait for lolo to arrive.
"Nandito na ang pinamakamaganda kong apo." Lolo says as soon as he saw me. I hurriedly run towards him because I wanted to hug him so much.
"Dahan dahan apo. Wag kang tumakbo at baka ika'y madapa." Lolo warned me but I didn't listen to him.
It's too late before I realize that there's a wood in front of me and slip myself in it.
Lolo dropped the things that he carried and hurriedly run towards me to help to stand up.
"Sinabi nang mag ingat Ysabelle pero hindi ka nakinig. Tingnan mo ang nangyari sayo, nagkasugat ka tuloy." Lolo scolded me while he's taking care of me. I immediately smiled at him and say its okay.
We go back to their house while he's carrying me in his other hand. He immediately asked Lola to bring alcohol and cotton buds so he can wash my wound. I wanted to say no because it'll stink but seeing his worried face make me shut up and watched them how they took care of me.
An hour had passed and we need to go back home because I have class the next day and my parent's also have work. As I bid goodbye to my grandparents, I saw how happy they are that we visited them.
"I'll see you again maybe after two weeks Lola, Lolo." I promise to them.
"Hindi mo na kailangang bistahin kami palagi apo. Mag aral ka ng mabuti ha? " Lolasaid to me.
"Palagi kang ttingin sa daan apo, para hindi ka madapa. Wala si lolo doon upang tulungan ka." Lolo added.
"Yes Lolo, Lola. I will take care of myself as well as daddy and mommy. Promise me to take care of yourself too. Don't overdue your work. Rest when you got tired hmmm." I said to them.
My parents and grandparents laugh and I got confused.
"Why you all laughing?" I ask.
"Sweetie, you're like parents asking a child to take care of themselves. They already know that and of course they will do that so there's nothing to worry okay?" My mom reassured.
"Okay okay." I pouted and that made them laugh even harder.
"Mag iingat kami palagi apo. Ikaw din mag ingat ka din doon. Wag magpaka stress sa pag aaral. Humingi ka ng tuong kapag hindi mo na kaya okay?." My Lolo said to me, "Sige na sumakay na kayo at papagabi na. Mahirap abutan ng dilim sa daan. Mag ingat ka sa pagmamaneho anak." Lolo said to Dad.
I kissed and hug them before I get in the car. Dad started the engine and we off to go home.
