Shopping Center
Chiha dragged Miu to join on a shopping spree. "There are so many cheap goods. Let's have a competition who gets the cheapest item!!!", Chiha hyped the group. "Why do I have to do this as well?", Sayo complained. Miu just laughed and looked at the coins that Chiha distributed to all of the participants. It's a Monday and the volleyball club is on a day off. Chiha disappeared all of a sudden. "I can't take my eyes off that idiot", Sayo dashed as well. Miu was reminded of Oikawa and Iwaizumi.
The girl walked around and saw interesting items. She felt like she was in the middle of a wonderland. Since she spent a lot of time in the hospital over the past month, she wasn't able to catch up with the new trend.
That's a very cute-looking strawberry doll. It costs a hundred yen though. Chiha only gave us 10 yen.
Wah~ Is that the new release of cucumber-scented bug spray?
Wait. The ice pack already comes with a squishy handle.
A brand new volleyball, there's no way this will cost 10-
Miu looked at the price and it cost 5 yen each. She laughed and guessed that the shop owner labeled it wrong. "I'll get one", she heard a familiar voice. " Ushijima-san? You're also here?", Miu turned and saw the rest of Shiratorizawa's volleyball team. "We heard that volleyball is being sold here at a cheap price", Semi explained their sudden appearance. "You're all in your training clothes. Did you jog from Shiratorizawa until here?", Miu tried to calculate how far it was. "If you get sidetracked for one more time, I'll pull your gut from your mouth", a violent voice came from the outside of the shop.
A group of high schoolers also entered and the atmosphere suddenly turned tense. The shop owner was scared that they will mug him. "They just faced each other during the last qualifiers. They will not cause any harm here, I hope", the last phrase made the owner panic. "Are you slacking off because you already have your ticket for the inter-high?", Oikawa raised his chin and tried to match Ushijima's height. "We're here to get volleyball. Some of our balls are no longer functional. We've been hitting them strongly", Ushijima just stated the fact but it sounded as if he was bragging in Oikawa's ears. "There are only 10 pieces left. Are we going to half it?", Goshiki asked. "We're taking all of them", Oikawa furrowed his brow. "I think we need it the most since we need to train for the inter-high", Ushijima debated.
"We're the closest in this area so we are the primary customers", Oikawa reasoned out. "I saw any rules like that outside the shop when we entered", Ushijima blinked a few times. " Ushijima-san, why don't we just give it to them as a consolation prize?", Shirabu gave a teasing smile. "We won't back down from that comment", Yahaba gave him a glare. "Why don't we settle this through a game?", Kindaichi suggested since the atmosphere is turning tenser. "There's no court in the middle of the shopping center", Reon just wanted to go back to school. It was good that Tendou was asked to stay and practice blocking with the other members. Oikawa heard the sound of the arcade house. "I challenge you in all the games in the arcade house!", Oikawa declared a war. "We need someone to monitor the score. Someone who's not in any of the team", Oikawa looked around and saw Miu holding a ball. "Little lamb~ Sorry, there was a huge boulder on the way", the pretty boy waved at her.
Arcade House
The rest of the crowd voluntarily left the place. It was occupied by two schools. "First game, whack a mole. Best of two players", Miu announced. She's even wondering why is she the one deciding on what game they are to play. " Ushijima-san and Goshiki-san vs. Oikawa-san and Iwaizumi-san", Miu used a whistle and Shiratorizawa gets to play first. Everyone had their eyes on Ushijima whacking all the moles popping out.
The fake mole seems as if it's giving up.
"That's a hundred moles in five minutes", Miu looked at the scoreboard. "Nice kill", Goshiki's mouth is twitching. He wasn't able to hit any because Ushijima keeps on smashing them. "All this time, I thought it was a one-player game", Shirabu rubbed salt on Goshiki's wound. "It's our turn", Oikawa smirked. They were able to take turns. For the last score, Oikawa's head was on the way but Iwa smashed it anyway. "If the last one counted, it'll be a tie", Miu hesitantly announced. "That was a strong one, Iwaizumi", Ushijima complimented.
"Next game is basketball. You're only allowed to throw before the line. Best of three players. One will be passing the ball", Miu gave the mechanics. " Ushijima-san, Shirabu-san and Semi-san vs. Oikawa-san, Iwaizumi-san, and Kindaichi-san", Miu blew the whistle. " Ushijima-san", Shirabu passed the ball too high as if he was tossing. Ushijima spiked it and the ball went inside. "This is basketball, right?", Miu looked at Goshiki who wasn't able to recover from just being an audience of his own game as well. "Kindaichi", Oikawa passed the ball. "It was a perfect toss, I mean pass", Kindaichi praised. "That's a tie", Miu announced.
"Next game is a car race, best of one player", Miu announced. Ushijima and Oikawa sat on the seat. Oikawa is avoiding all the cars perfectly. He's accurately following the lane. He peeked at Ushijima's screen and he just hit all the cars that is on the way. They both won. "How is he a winner when he wasn't following the traffic lights?!", Oikawa complained. "The machine said so", Miu said in a nervous voice. "No, Little lamb. I wasn't angry at you", Oikawa shook his head. "For the last game, the only score-based game here is the karaoke", Miu pointed at the center stage. "I'll take the challenge", Oikawa marched towards the stage.
Contrary to Oikawa's just good enough voice, Ushijima read the lyrics. The machine showed the score and Ushijima scored perfectly. "This is plain foolish!", Oikawa was about to throw the mic but Iwa stopped him.
Shop
All the volleyball was purchased by someone else. They all sighed in disbelief. "I was given 10 yen by a friend so I was able to buy two. Here is for you", Miu went to Oikawa who's mopping around after a devastating loss. His eyes brightened and wagged his tail again. "And, here is for you", Miu gave one to Ushijima. "But you're the one who bought it", Ushijima didn't accept it. "Then, you can pay back by teaching me how to play", Miu made a deal. Oikawa burned in jealousy. "The same goes with you, Oikawa-san. I still have to help until next month to make up for my physical education class", Miu smiled. The rest of the boys felt blessed to see such a smile.
Shopping district-food stalls
"Why did Coach ask Sana to help in males volleyball?", Erika wondered. "Female volleyball had this huge idiot and Sana might not be able to take her intensity", Sayo answered. The rest nodded in agreement. "And the winner is still me!", Chiha raised a nasty-looking voodoo doll. "I won't be surprised if she gets cursed or something", Sayo sighed.
