So I decided not to go to Mason's hideaway, but I did wait at my table with my friends during lunch to look for him. I thought it was worth a shot to talk to him alone without Rachelle eavesdropping from behind us. I couldn't wait to ask him all what I've learned last night from Miranda. "...crazy why she would do that," Peyton said, popping a french fry in her mouth. "I mean, I don't really think that's necessary, when you think about it. Right, Aristosa?"

I jerked up from my thoughts. "Wait, what?" "Fiona dyed her hair in rainbow colors."

"Which one?"

"The one with rings on her fingers. She dyed it to get over her ex-boyfriend."

"Ah," I said. "That's kind of pathetic." The things you do to get over someone, especially one that you built your whole world on.

I turned around, trying to locate Mason. That's when I spotted him at the basketball court talking to Jaren. This is it. I could walk up to him without Rachelle in my way, and talk things out. Like what he said when we were at the arts and crafts store. Chances don't come that frequently.

I got up and walked straight for Mason. I turned back to see if either Kori or Peyton are seeing what I'm doing. They were still in conversation mode about Fiona dying her hair. Pretty sure that when I come back they wouldn't even have noticed I left.

"...I don't know, she's just being a bitch." I must have come at the wrong time when Mason said those words. I was next to the tree in front of the courtas he said them. Neither noticed me when I went behind the tree to listen what's happening.

"Come on," Jaren said, crossing his arms. "She can't be that bad. I thought you said you've known each other for a long time."

"Yeah, but she just changed. She used be cool, enjoying life. Now, she's just being a diva." Mason made a face, looking behind him.

This is about Rachelle, and I know it. I mean, he wouldn't call me a bitch or diva. Right? If I were Rachelle, wow, I'd go up to Mason and scream at the top of my lungs.

"So, what are you going to do about Aristosa?" Jaren questioned. Once I heard my name I realized that Mason was talking about me. He's calling me a bitch and diva to someone else. My heart was beating so hard that I thought that I might also cry.

"I don't know," Mason said. "All I know is that if she's listening to this conversation right now, I hope she realizes that it's not nice to eavesdrop on people's conversation."

That's when I knew that I was caught. I slowly stepped out of my hiding place to see Jaren laughing and Mason shaking his head, a crooked smile on his face. I walked up to them, all confident like. "Alright, alright," I said. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop at first, I just came to talk to you."

He nodded. "So," he began. "You heard about our conversation."

"Sorry. Just, once I heard you say that Rachelle's being a bitch-"

"Wait," Jaren interrupted. "How did you know its Rachelle we're talking about?"

I looked at them, hoping that they were just kidding. If it isn't about Rachelle then I totally screwed up.

They looked at me for a while before Mason said, "Yeah, we were."

I let out the breath that I've been holding in. "Wow, you're seriously talking about your girlfriend behind her back? That's cold." I don't know why I'm starting a different conversation than how I planned it to be, but hearing this out loud from Mason is pretty intense.

"Yeah," Jaren said, nodding. "He said he's going to break up with her!"

"Are you serious?"
