Nicole's POV
When the enlistment came for a town called purgatory I knew that's where I wanted to go. The journey to the town I learned a few things about it. The town was once home to Wyatt Earp and is now home to his descendants. Wyatt Earp put down 77 supposed supernatural creatures. Most people don't believe that tidbit of information but I do. I knew all those things were real because I saw a werewolf shift from human to wolf.
The wolf was at the same party as me when I had just turned 21 years old. She was drinking and having so much fun and we talked for hours, not that she would remember it in the morning from how much she was drinking but oh well. A few hours passed and it was like a switch flipped. She suddenly grew very worried. She tried to run away but I was worried for her so I followed her. She fell to her knees. I stepped out of the tree line to help her but then she turned into a wolf. I was shocked, still I stood there and watched as she ran away into the night.
I never saw her again. I always wondered what happened to her. Seeing that girl made me realize a few things, one\ being that I liked girls but seeing that girl turning into a wolf also made me realize that the stories of the supernatural world were real. The stories that gave me nightmares when I was a kid were all real. I was going to find the wolf girl. I was going to uncover all the secrets the supernatural world held.
When I arrived in purgatory I discovered a few things. One being that this town was a little run down. Two being that everybody in this small town seemed to talk about one person. Waverly is her name and she is very beautiful, kind, smart, and a smile that lights up a room. I've only seen her in passing but I have already come to like her. The Third and final thing I've discovered is that the wolf girl is here and is sister to Waverly. From the way the wolf girl talks and looks at me I've come to understand that she does not remember the night she showed her wolf to a human.
After weeks of working and living here in purgatory I was no closer to knowing the wolf girl I've come to learn the name of as Wynonna. I also can't seem to work up the nerve to talk to Waverly. I also made the connection that if Wynonna was the wolf girl then it was a small jump to think that Waverly was also a wolf. I could see there was a difference between Wynonna and Waverly. Wynonna was a hothead and she drinks a lot, she also was a brown haired wolf. Waverly was a shy girl and very friendly and I really wanted to find out what kind of fur her wolf had.
I have been living here in Purgatory for a little while now and I was loving it so much minus a few bumps in the road. One being the asshole Deputy Marshall dolls! The other being Champ Hardy Waverlys boyfriend.
I'm walking down the street towards the office to start my shift when I look over and there is Shorty's, the bar where Waverly works. I decided to see if she was in, so I crossed the street and took hold of the door handle. It was unlocked. I opened the door and what I saw was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Waverly Earp cleaning down the beer taps but she accidentally pulled on the tap too hard and she got covered in beer.
"I didn't know Shorty's had wet t-shirt Competitions?" I just had to say something and apparently that was the best I could come up with. I found it cute and couldn't help but let out a little chuckle.
"Oh um yeah had a crazy night" she said Returning the chuckle as she turned around.
"Sorry I wasn't here to see it" I said as I started to walk to the bar.
"Nicole, Nicole Haught '' I said, sticking out my hand.
"I would totally shake your hand but I'm covered in beer and it's sticky, but Waverly, Waverly Earp" she said as she gestured to her soaking wet tank top and I found that just absolutely adorable.
