The school had just resumed a new session. The compound was teeming with petunias and geraniums in splashes of bright pink and red and the student's uniform;a combination of Ash White Black and Maroon contributed to the school's beauty. MHS is one of the most prestigious schools in Lagos and in the country.It was also known for it's academic excellence and the fact that the school was for only the wealthy and influential personalities in the state and as far as the country.
Henry and Nikky were in Henry's seat, gisting and laughing. Both of them are classmates and very close friends even though Nikky joined the school late last term because she and her parents relocated from PH.
Faith rushed over towards Henry seat to join him and Nikky in their conversation, immediately Nikky saw this,she excused them and went to her seat. Henry stood up too and stood by nikky's seat and muttered some words then she stood up and both of them left the class for the deserted staircase that was close to their class, leaving faith startled. Getting there, Malik and Aramide were already there with tejiri,emeka, bryann and Alfred. These people are acquaintances and this is just their meeting spot. The only person missing there is Sameer,the dude is probably still enjoying his holiday. Nikky and Aramide are not one of them but because they're really one of the boys close friends,the rest are comfortable having them around.
"Where's Sameer?"Aramide asked, as her best friend and Henry got to the staircase.
Nikky shrugged her shoulder and walked towards her direction while Henry sat on the banisters.
"Bahamas"Henry replied and Aramide turned around to look at Henry.
"He's not back??"Aramide asked, surprised.
"He's been ignoring my cries and pleas"Henry said.
"Abeg, who dey with the phone?"Henry asked loudly.
"E dey with me ....ehn wetin happen" emeka said.
"Pass am"Henry said, stretching his hands to collect the iphone 6.
"Guy let's call Sameer "Malik moved closer to Henry.
"That's why I collected the phone sef" Henry dialed Sameer's WhatsApp number and it went through at once.
"Heyy.... morning"a deep rich baritone voice sounded at the other end of the line.
"You still dey sleep?"Henry said, placing the call on speaker.
"Not really"Sameer said
"My gee"
"Sameer"
"Boss"
"Gee"
Everybody wanted to greet Sameer, Nikky didn't say anything because she and Sameer were never close and they only spoke on few occasions probably because of Henry and it's said that he talks to only few girls and this girls are always of high calibre.
"Sameer,get your fucking ass here by tommorow"Aramide teased
"Okay Boss"Sameer chuckled.
"When will you be back?" Malik asked.
"I'm enjoying Bahamas"
"Guyyyy"
"Okay okay let's see shaa..... Henry's incessant begging is becoming unbearable so I'll be in school by Monday"
"Sameer..."Henry started.
"Yess"
"Whatever" Henry said
"Nikky,come and say hi "Henry called Nikky and Sameer said "your handbag"
Nikky raise her eyebrows,her expression said"like seriously?"
"You didn't want to say hello?"Sameer's rich baritone voice filled nikky's ears.
"H..hi"she stuttered,his voice kept her off balance.
"How do you do?"
"How do you do too?"
"Nikky,give me the phone of you won't talk normally" Henry teased as Nikky handed him the phone.
"Why are you talking like you're shy abi scared sef" Aramide whined.
"It's weird, I mean we aren't even close and....." Henry cut her short
"Hehe, Nikky"
Henry was laughing so hard, Nikky was slightly embarrassed.Henry laughed because it was unlike Nikky to run out of words and act that shy.
"stop nau...it was how you called me to speak with someone I barely talk with and everybody's gaze on me.it was unexpected."Nikky said, blushing lightly.
"okay okay. Henry stop now while Nikky hasn't got offended."Malik spoke up.
"thank you Malik" Nikky said, eyeing Henry and Aramide playfully and the four of them laughed.
Since today's the first day of resumption, there'll be no school work just registration and brief orientation.
SS 2 has six arms;A is for technical sciences,B and C is for pure sciences, D and E is the art/humanities class while F is the commercial class.
Nikky and Henry are both in SS 2E, Malik and Aramide are in F, Sameer and Bryan are in A, Tejiri in C and Emeka in D.
"I'm hungry" Nikky whined like a baby.
"didn't you eat breakfast before coming?"Malik asked, surprised that Nikky was hungry at few minutes past ten.
"I barely had breakfast,just three slices of bread and I couldn't finish up."
"Nikky doesn't joke with food ooh"Aramide said
"Heeei"Malik replied.
Aramide brought up a controversial topic that suited the atmosphere and for that moment, nikky's hunger vanished. They argued till it was time for break and announcement came that after break, there'll be forum for the senior students.
"Can't we ditch the forum?"Nikky asked, looking a bit worried.
"No way"Aramide replied, playing with her fingernails.
I admit that the principal's monologue is enough to wear a person out but what else can they do,they needed the orientation on how to be better students this term.
