Tick.
Tick.
Tick.
BOOM.
Everything around Aiyana started to shake as her eyes shot open and she gasped for air."Hey over here guys! We haven't explored this cave yet, and it looks pretty deep!", said a young archeologist as he moved the harmful explosives from the opening and started to set up his climbing equipment.
While the archeologist started to make his way into the cavern, Aiyana was feeling like she had just been trampled. Every time the woman took a breath, she couldn't help but feel the dryness in her throat and a unbearable, searing, pain in her lungs. However, even though Aiyana was starting to shake from the pain, she had no time to focus on it. Right now, she needed to figure out what that explosion was.
Aiyana didn't know where it came from, but that explosion that she just heard couldn't have been that far away. In fact, it sounded like it was pretty close, now that she thought more about it.
Aiyana wasn't particularly scared of the explosion itself. However, Aiyana was a little apprehensive to find out what could have caused in. So, she quickly decided she needed to figure out how to leave where she was, and she needed to be quick about it. However, there was one huge problem. Aiyana couldn't see anything. It was pitch black wherever she was and even when she tried to get her eyes to adjust to the darkness she still couldn't even make out what was directly in front of her.So, deciding that trying to see was a fruitless venture, Aiyana tried to use her other senses to maybe guess where she was trapped. After a while of concentrating and a lot of struggling, all Aiyana came up with was that wherever she was; was dark, cold, cramped, and smelt a lot like stale dirt.
"Am I underground?", the woman suddenly asked herself as she tried to piece the clues together.
The young woman tried to be cool, but not being able to see was starting to cause Aiyana to panic as she tried to shift her body in order to escape the cramped space. But as she struggled, the young woman soon realized that her arms and legs were stuck and wouldn't budge no matter how much she tried to move them. As a matter of fact, the more she tried to move, the more she realized that she couldn't move anything on her body. It felt like everything, including her head and feet, were being enveloped in a cold hard hug that wouldn't release her no matter how hard she struggled.
Aiyana continued to try to move, until her ears suddenly perked up at the sounds of someone walking in the cave and getting closer. Realizing that whoever was in the cave was likely coming straight for her, caused Aiyana to panic even more as she became more desperate.
It was true that Aiyana didn't know who was coming or if they were a threat. But what Aiyana did know, was that when they arrived at the bottom of the cave she didn't want to be stuck in this venerable position. While Aiyana continued to panic, she didn't realize that her body heat was starting to rapidly rise in temperature. And as it proceeded to climb, the heat started to slowly melt the rock surrounding her, allowing her to somewhat move her limbs. Realizing that she could move better than she could before, Aiyana shifted her eyes down to see that she was heating up the rock surrounding her.
"Oh Fuck, I forgot I could do that." Aiyana realized, as she mentally slapped herself for forgetting in her panic.
Suddenly, Aiyana's panic was quickly replaced with extreme focus, as she concentrated on trying to make her body as hot as possible in order to heat up the rock and break free.
While Aiyana concentrated on that, the young archeologist had finally reached the bottom of the cave and was shining his flashlight around the darkened area. The man shivered and pulled his jacket up around his arms as he looked at the various rock formations that littered the walls and ceiling.
