Family Breakfast

You go sit at the kitchen table, as both Klaus and Grace (their mom) had both instructed you. Since all the Hargreeves' were here, Grace, preferred to have them all eat together. They all loved her, and since everything is kinda normal-ish now, they don't ever argue with her on meals. Only thing is they tell her if they're going out to dinner, that way she knows not to prepare for them.
So you and all the Hargreeves' are sitting at the table eating breakfast. You're sitting between Five and Klaus, five across from Diego, you across from Viktor, Klaus across from Allison, and Luther sitting at the head of the table. Then Luther speaks. Of course he does.

"So Allison told me something this morning, and it's... Interesting." Luther looks around the table, stopping and looking at you a little longer, making you feel embarrassed and self conscious.
You and Klaus both looked embarrassed. You for what you said and did, him for accidentally being the cause. Five being as intelligent and observant as he is, he was pretty quick to notice.

"Seems Klaus and (y/n) are already aware." Five says, leaning over the edge of the table slightly, to look down your shared side of the table at the both of you.

"Is it true that (y/n) tried to sleep with Klaus?" Luther blurts out, causing you to choke on the water you were trying to drink. Klaus pats your back in an attempt to help you breathe.

"They were already sleeping in the same room, Luther." Viktor innocently states.

Five looks at you and Klaus again, with a stern look on his face. "One night? That's all it took for you want to sleep with one of us, (y/n)?"

You look at Five and you start to stutter out of frustration and embarrassment.
"Th-thats n-not- I didn't- I d-don't-"

"Just sound it out, (y/n)." Both Diego and Grace say to you at the same time, confusing you momentarily.

Klaus stands up and leans on the table. "Guys, it's not like that, they weren't in a... They weren't in the right state of mind, they were having nightmares and I know nightmares are a bitch, so I thought some edible gummies would maybe calm them down enough to get some rest, I forget that things affect people different, okay? My fault. They weren't themself. Like, remember when perfect number one, Luther got drunk and did drugs and boned that chick that thought he was a furry? Which is still funny and concerning, by the way. But that's not something he normally wanted or would do, right? So... Yeah! Don't blame (y/n)!" Klaus sticks up for you, looking at you and patting you on the shoulder after his little speech. Giving you a little concerned and apologetic smile.

"Sorry if I'm a little skeptical, Klaus, but I couldn't find record of (y/n) at all. Ever. It's like they never existed." Five explains.

"What? Record of me? What does he mean?" You look at Klaus, not really understanding.

"Like birth certificates or hospital records or anything that proves you exist, (y/n)" Ben answers, standing in the corner of the kitchen. You hadn't even noticed him until he talked.

"I've never been to a hospital, my father always took care of any injuries, he even delivered me when I was born. I never left that house until yesterday, Ben."

Most of the Hargreeves' had forgotten by now that you could see Ben.

"I mean, if you never had a birth certificate or any identification, that may be why there's no record of you." Allison seems to think out loud.

Five takes a sip of his shitty, watered down coffee.
"That would make sense, but I'll keep my eye on you, (y/n), hurt any of my brothers and sister, and I will kill you myself. You understand?"

You simply nodded.

"If they're not on record at all and have no family, does that mean they can be a Hargreeves? Stay in the house and be one of us? Be known as (y/n) Hargreeves?" Ben suggested.

Klaus smiles and claps his hands. "Oh, Ben-arino, you always have the best ideas!"

The rest of the Hargreeves' seemed confused.
"Klaus, what did Ben say?" Diego asked eagerly.

"He suggested I live with you guys and become a Hargreeves since I have no family or records of my existence." You said, standing up, and looking around the table for approval of some kind.

They all looked at you, then at each other.

Allison: shrugged "I see that as a reasonable idea"

Diego: "I think that's a good idea, they need a family, they don't even know what the world is like."

Luther: sighs "I guess that makes sense."

Viktor: "I see no problem with this."

Five: "Diego is right, if they're telling the truth, they have no idea what the world is like, they'll die out there without us."

Klaus: smiles "yay! Well then I guess, welcome to the family, (y/n) Hargreeves!"

You smile at them all. This feels nice. This feels safe.

Grace approaches you and takes your hands into hers.
"Would you like me to make you your own uniform?"

You look around. All the siblings seemed to shrug. Might as well. You can't just wear Klaus' clothes forever.
You nod at Grace.
"Yes please, ma'am."

She smiles at you and lets go of your hands.
"No need to call me Ma'am, you can call me Grace or mom, okay? That's what all the other children call me."

"M..Mom.." tears start to well up in your eyes. Klaus and Five, being closest to the whole thing both see this and attempt to comfort you. Five blinks in front of Grace and grabs your hands as soon as they start shaking. Klaus stood at your shoulder, putting his arm around you and holding onto your other shoulder, allowing you to lie your head on his chest, his other hand stroking your hair in an attempt to calm you as he quietly shushed you and tried to comfort you by telling you that he's here and you're okay, and that he and all the other Hargreeves' are here for you now.

Grace announces that she's leaving to go start on your uniform, and that maybe she'll help you through that stutter, since Diego had one.
That made that comment earlier from them make a little more sense.

The other Hargreeves' started slowly coming and hugging around you.

Five, despite being skeptical, looked at you, still holding your hands, "welcome to the family, (y/n)." And smiled at you.

The rest of the family followed suit in welcoming you to the family.

This really made you happy. You smiled through your tears and thanked them all.

The moment was cut short as banging started at the door.
You tried to squeeze Five's hands in fear but he let go and blinked to the door, leaving you in Klaus' arms as the rest of the family started walking to the door.

You looked up at him curiously, why hadn't he left too?

"I don't like loud noises either. I've got you." He whispered to you.
