Chapter 1: College Life Sucks

Ahh.. Summer. The flowers are blooming, the trees are cherry blossoms. Everything is so beautiful... is what I WOULD say but I, and many others are starting college at the START of summer... WHO DOES THAT?! 

My name is Benjamin Jackson.. But my friends call me Ben. I live in a small apartment complex that isn't too far from the college I go to, Meadows Ridge College, It's a.. "small" college smack dab in the middle of California. 

Life is pretty good for the most part, I get my work done, go back home and either watch TV or play video games when I'm not working at my part-time job.. 

Up until recently my parents called me asking "Oh Ben.. when are you gonna get yourself a girlfriend???" Now normally I'd say "Soon." but I didn't say anything because 1. School and 2. I'm a massive introvert. 

I don't really like talking to new people, the only friends I have are James and Lucas, I've known them since middle school. Now I gotta worry about getting a girl?! College life sucks.

"Oh Ben.. I love you so much." A young girl suddenly appears in front of Ben. "Whoa! That's new.." Ben said. 

Looking at her she looks pretty beautiful, short brown hair, amber eyes, and a little short (around 5'7) "Do you love me too Ben?" She says, awaiting his answer. 

"Umm..Wait..Piper Hensley?! What are yo-" An alarm starts going off, causing Ben to get sucked back to reality. He awakens, he sees he's roof. 

"Ah.. a dream..as if." Ben said, forcing himself to get up. Piper Hensley huh? What an impossible dream. Ben reaches for his phone, the clock reads 7:35 a.m. 

"Too early for this crap..Alright up and at em." Ben jumps out of bed and starts getting ready. In the middle of changing clothes, Ben's phone goes off. 

"Oh no.." Ben says, as he grabs it. Ben sighs, inhales, and answers. "Hey mom!" Ben says. "My sweet baby hiiii! How are you?" She asks him. "I'm good mom, I'm good." Ben says as he looks around his messy apartment. 

"Just wanted to say hi and see how things are going, How's school?" She asks. "It's going mom, how's grandma..? " Ben asked. 

"She's gettin better, you should visit her when your out of school, oh and also..have you lost it yet?" She says with excitement. "Oh god..no mom," Ben sighs. 

"You're 20 years ago and you're still a virgin. So proud!" She says with joy. "I bet mom. And no, still don't have a girlfriend." Ben said. "Oh darn! Well one day son, anyway love ya!" She says making kissing sounds. 

"Bye mom love you too." Ben hangs up the phone, and sighs. "So persistent." Ben mumbles. Ben finishes getting ready, grabs his backbag and heads out. 

He closes and locks his door and breaths in...and out. "Time for some more sweat in the hot sun. Hooray." Ben says as he walks down the stairs. As he continues walking, he notices a girl walking the same way as him..Piper. 

Oh god..it's her..please don't notice me. Ben starts speed walking past her, hoping she doesn't see him. Suddenly he hears a "Whoa!" from behind him, he quickly turns to see Piper trip and is starting to fall towards him. Yep..College life sucks.. BAM! 

She lands on him, "Owww..." Jackie says as she opens her eyes. She and Ben lock eyes. "OH MY GOD I'M SO SORRY!! I wasn't paying attention!" She says, quite embarrassed. 

"...that's okay...Just, please get off.." Ben said. As soon as he said that she immediately got off, face was bright red. "I'm sorry.." She mumbled. "It's..okay.." Ben says, not really knowing what to say or do next..an awkward silence falls upon both of them. 

Piper looks at the time and gasps, "Crap..Gotta go! SORRY AGAIN SIR!!" Piper said as she ran. S-Sir? I'm only 20!! As Ben gets up, he dusts himself off and starts walking towards school. "Whatever, bit of an airhead if you ask me.." Ben mumbled.

-A FEW MINUTES LATER-

Class..finally, Ben opened the door to his classroom, 1-A, and sat down at his seat, it's by the window in the 2nd back row. 

As he sat down the bell rang, and the students who were socializing with one another sat down one by one as the teacher walked up to the stand. "Good morning class, My name is Mr. Nobles, and I will be your homeroom teacher for the year." He explained. 

Some students snicker under their breath. Heh, Kinda sounds like Mr. No Balls. "Aright, let's start with today's lesson shall we?" Mr. Noble said, as he began blabbering about teacher things.

-1 HOUR LATER-

Come on... just a few seconds left. As Ben stared at the clock, the bell rang and most of the students cheered. 

"Oh my, alright well have a good rest of your day students! I'll see you tomorrow." He said. Alright, time for lunch, thank god.. Cause I'm starving. 

Ben speed walked towards the outdoor cafeteria, sat down and opened his paper bag, he has two ham and cheese sandwiches. "Finally.." Ben mumbled as he began to eat his food. As he was eating, in the corner of his eye he spots his friend, Lucas who is coming over to him. 

"Ben! My man, how are you?" Lucas said as he plobs himself beside Ben. "Oh, Hey Lucas, I'm good.. Just eating my lunch, how are you?" Ben asked. 

"I'm good, still don't have a girlfriend.. But good." Lucas chuckles. "Man you won't give up on that will you?" Ben said. Lucas puts his hand on Ben's shoulder, "Never my friend, Never, you have no room to talk, where's your girlfriend hmmm??" Lucas asked. 

"Fair enough, I don't have one either and I don't plan on it." Ben said. "But why? College is about enjoying life, and getting girls." Lucas said, as he slightly drools. "That's... not right, but whatever.." Ben said. 

"C'mon dude, don't you wanna know what it feels like to be loved by someone?" Lucas asked. Ben falls silent for a moment.. Then, "Of course I do, but.. I just wanna lay low and finish college. I don't have time for dating, practically my whole family is begging me to get a girl, which is even MORE frustrating." Ben explains. 

Lucas looks up and spots someone coming over to them, "Uhh Ben..? Is that Piper Hensley? The most popular girl in our school walked over to us?!" Lucas said. 

Ben looked and Lucas was right, Piper Hensley is walking over here, waving at us. "Sir! It's me!" Piper called out as she came up to us. 

"Airhead?!" Ben said out loud. Everyone gasps and stares at the three of us. 

Great..so much for laying low...college life sucks.

I'm FINALLY back!! Sorry I've been gone for a while, Life was punching me over and over. But I'm back and gonna be writing again Hooray! I don't know if I'll be publishing a new chapter every week, but we'll see. Anyway, hope you enjoy Sham Love! (ben's such a thinker) :DD
