"W-WHAT DID YOU JU-" Piper starts saying but Ben covers her mouth. "H-Hey baby, let's go out and talk for a sec.. Be right back grandma!!" Ben said as he walked with Piper out of the room.
She elbows Ben in the stomach, causing him to let her go. "OW! God... why'd you do that?!" Ben said, rubbing his stomach.
"How dare you grab me?! You chimp.. And what was that all about?!" Piper said, stomping her foot like a small bunny.
Ben sighs, "Look.. I didn't expect for this to happen either.. But.. My grandma is sick. I'm hoping it's nothing bad but I don't know if they'll let her out of the hospital and when she was practically on her deathbed she looked at me and said.. "Ben.. go be happy..find a woman you love and go live your life." Ben said.
Piper stares at him and sighs, "God..we're in the same boat huh.." Piper said. "Yeah that we... wait what?" Ben surprisingly said.
"My grandpa is here too.. Said the same thing.. But I never looked around for a boy..there's always shitty people around and none of them are goodhearted." Piper said, looking down. Ben thinks for a moment..and gasps.
"I have an idea!" He said. "Oh? What?" Piper asked. "Look.. me and you don't really like each other.." Ben starts saying.
"Understatement of the year..you chimp.." Piper mumbled. "SO let's pretend to date..so that we can make our grandparents happy..and my parents off my back." Ben said.
"Are you insane?! How would that work, we don't even know each other!" Piper said. "Maybe so, but all we really gotta do is act all lovey dovey in front of our grandparents until they both feel better and then we'll tell them we broke up!" Ben said.
Piper scratches her head, thinking. "Doesn't sound THAT bad.." Piper said. "Once they get out of the hospital we never speak again..deal?" Ben said, as he holds out his hand.
Piper looked at his hand, and shook it. "Deal..but ONLY here, I don't want anyone at school catching wind of this.." Piper said.
"Agreed.. That'd be a nightmare.." Ben said. The both of them walk back to the door, looking at each other. "Ready?" Ben asked. Piper sighs and nods. Ben opens the door, locking hands with Piper, and walks in.
"Haha you're so funny honey bunches!" Ben laughed. "Oh you know me too well! Haha" Piper laughs as well. "Oh look at you two..so adorable." Grandma says chuckling.
"Grandma, this is Piper.. My girlfriend." Ben said as he let go of her hand. Piper walks up to the side of the bed and holds out her hand, "It's nice to meet you ma'am." Piper smiles.
"Such grace! Ah..and you look so beautiful!" She said, "T-Thank you.." Piper blushing, not really knowing what to say.
"So how'd you two meet?" Grandma asked. Both Piper and Ben look at each other, thinking fast. "U-Uh.. At the mall!" Ben said.
"Y-Yea! He bought me some food and it just kinda went on from there..haha." Piper chuckling. Ben's grandma stares at them for a moment..
"That's so cute!! Gosh I can't wait to tell Jess the news.." Grandma said. "Wait.. Jess? As in Jess Hansley?" Piper asked.
"Yes that's correct.. Why do you know her?" Grandma asked. "She's my grandma!" Piper said happily. Ben's mouth dropped to the floor in pure shock, while his grandmother laughed. "Well.. what a conscience! This must be destiny!" Grandma said.
NO! NO It is not!! "Jess! Get in here!" Grandma yelled towards the wall by her bed. Ben hears the sound of a bed, then walking..
A door opening and more walking. Until the door opens and comes in, a woman, long gray hair, has a cane and wobbles her way over.
"Hello Susun! What's up? I heard you calling me." Jess says. "Yes look! It's your daughter and her boyfriend." Susan says, pointing at the two of them.
"Grandma! Hi! This is uh.. Ben! My boyfriend!" Piper says, grabbing his hand once again. "Hi ma'am.." Ben smiles. Jess gasps, "Oh my god hiii! It's so nice to meet you Ben! You two look so adorable together my goodness." Jess says, smiling from ear to ear.
Ben looks over to Piper who is also smiling. Huh.. Never seen her smile like that. "Alright well, we've gotta head back, But we'll visit again soon alright?" Piper said.
The grannys both nod and wave bye to them. "See you soon Ben!" Susan says, waving him off. "Bye grandma. It was nice to meet you Piper's grandma!" Ben said.
They both open the door and walk out as they wave bye to their grandparents, and as soon as they walk out, they both let go of their hands. "Ugh.. your hand is sweaty.." Piper said. "Oh look who's talking you sweaty gorilla.." Ben mumbled.
Piper elbows Ben in the stomach once again. Ben coughs, "Ow.. god..I hate you so much right now.." Ben said. "Same here you chimp.. Heh." Piper chuckles.
"Yea yea laugh it up. I'm going home." Ben says as he starts walking away from her. "Bye bye chimp!" Piper waves. "Uh huh.." Ben said. God how annoying.. Can't wait to crash at home in my bed.. I miss my bed.
Ben walks out of the hospital and towards his apartment complex.
-10 MINUTES LATER-
Ben opens his door and immediately falls onto his bed. "Ahhh...home sweet bed.." Ben says to himself. As he starts to get comfy he hears scratching by his siding door to the balcony.
"Yay he's back!" Ben says getting back up and walking towards the door. He slides the door open and walks out. He kneels down and picks up a plump black cat, as it purrs into his body. "Hey Wilson.. Welcome back buddy." Ben kissing Wilson.
"I assume you're here for food yea?" Ben said. Wilson meows, putting him back down. Ben runs inside and grabs a can of cat food and comes back.
He puts the food by a small bowl of water to the side. "Here ya go Wilson, enjoy." Ben smiles. Wilson, ready to eat, wobbles his way over to the food and starts eating. Ben chuckles as he sits down and stares up at the sky..
A small breeze hits his face as he breathes in the afternoon air. Ahhh.. feels good. As he sits there for a moment, another door opens up..but not his. Next door over, a sliding door opens and Ben hears someone talking.
Hmm.. might as well say hi.. Although I'm too comfy to move now.. Heh. "Aww what an adorable kitty!" The person says over to Ben's side. Wait..that voice.. Oh god..
Ben stands up and walks over to the left side of the balcony and sees her. It was none other then Piper. "WAIT WHAT?! YOU LIVE HERE?!?!" Ben said.
"OH GOD NOT YOU AGAIN!!" Piper said. This day just keeps getting worse and worse..ugggggh.
Oh my.. things are starting to look rather not alright for Ben.. But that cat? MY GOD SO CUTE! Wilson is great! Anyway, Hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you all in the next one! :D
