Adrien cursed under his breath, "Everyone, get down!"

He tore out of the gas station.

As did the van, Chloe noted.

"It's following us," Nino said, peering through the window.

"Chloe, could you move to the back?" Adrien asked.

She started to lift her head up but Adrien pushed it back down.

"Do you want me to move or not?" she snapped.

"Lower your head," he instructed.

Chloe crawled into the middle seat. Alya and Nino were behind her and Marinette sat across from her.

"Chloe, it'll be fine," Nino said, surprising everyone.

"Thanks," she said.

Nino let out a low whistle, "Wow, never thought I'd hear a th—"

Alya elbowed him, "Alya," he complained, "Stop!"

"Adrien, are you doing OK up there?" Marinette asked.

"We're uh, almost out of gas," he said regretfully.

"And the car is still following us," Nino added.

Chloe opened her phone and through the light she caught a glimpse of the face in the other car. It was a lady, and she looked angry. She had plenty of wrinkles on her face and she was looking directly at Chloe.

Chloe screamed.

"Chloe, what is it?" Alya snapped. Marinette shot her a look.

"Sorry," she said with a tight smile, "I'm just stressed right now,"
"I saw the driver," she gasped, struggling to keep her voice level.

"Everyone needs to unbuckle and get down slowly. There's blankets in the back. We're going to stop soon, there's a gas station coming up ahead,"

"We're going to stop?" Chloe demanded, "She probably has a gun!"

"It's fine. I'll handle it," Adrien promised. Chloe wasn't so sure but she stayed silent.

"It's just gas Chlo," he said, "If anything, Alya will drive away,"

"But dude, no offense but how are you going to survive if you're kidnapped?"

Adrien pulled up to the gas station and hopped out of the car. The lady did the same. He quickly began filling the car up, using the highest amount. When he saw the price he barely flinched.

The lady began walking to the car with a snide grin.

Adrien tried to open the door, but the lady grabbed him by his arm and began pulling him toward her car. Marinette pushed open the door and ran to pry him off, but the lady grabbed her as well.

"No!" Alya screamed. She and Nino watched as Alya attacked the lady, but got dragged along with the others.

"They're gone," Chloe cried.

"I'm still here," Nino said, poking his head up.

"Except for you obviously," she snapped.

"You don't have to keep being all snippy you know du- Chloe,"

"You don't know me," Chloe lied, "That's just how I am,"

Nino scooted up to the front seat, "Okay, because that's not what Luka said,"

Chloe's face heated up, "What did he say about me?"

Nino rested his head on the headrest, "Why?"

"You know exactly why," she mumbled.

"Do you like him?" he teased.

"Of course I like him! Now what did he say?"

Nino did an exaggerated gasp, "Chloe Bourgeois has a crush! On a commoner!"

"Don't call him that," she said irritably.

"He said he really likes you,"

Chloe glared at Nino, "Not funny,"

Nino put his hands up in defense, "Fine, he just said to tell you that he didn't mean what he said, he's a very sensitive person and sometimes he bottles things up y'know?"

"What do you mean?" she asked, "How do you know?"

"He just texted me half-an-hour ago,"

Chloe grabbed Nino's phone. He saw they'd been exchanging stories and things they'd found funny or cute throughout the show. There was a picture of Chloe that she hadn't remembered. She was in her pyjamas, and her eyes were closed and a small smile was on her face. Luka had texted: you don't understand how amazing she is, i feel like this is a dream

The most recent message was: if u have chloe's # can you tell her that i'm sorry? i went about it the wrong way and im scared she'll think i hate her. which i don't she's my everything

"Nino, do you realize what this means?" she asked.

"That he likes you, duh,"

She blushed, "No! That he's safe!" tears of gratitude trickled down her cheeks.

"You're not crying are you?" Nino complained, "Girls,"

They drove for a little while longer without talking when suddenly Chloe stopped the car.

"Nino, come on!" she begged, tugging his arm gently. Nino was sleeping peacefully, his glasses falling off his nose.

She sighed and closed the door softly. She had stopped at a huge art festival filled with booths. There was a singing booth, a makeup booth and more. Chloe's heart sank when she saw a guitar booth.

She'd been looking for hours and the festival was starting to packed up. She'd done just about everything. She'd taken selfies with numerous celebrities, tried a dozen new foods and bought some super cute souvenirs.

A security guard walked up to Chloe with a stern glare.

"Ma'am, you need to leave now," he said.

"I'm leaving, just wait a minute!" she snapped.

He grabbed her by the arm. He looked a couple years older than her, with dark brown hair styled to perfection and his menacing green eyes.

"Let go of me!" she screamed, trying to break free. She twisted his arm as far as she could and ran as fast as she could.

Then she saw him.

He looked tired, his face streaked with dirt and sweat. His usual calm smile was replaced with a frown. His shirt was torn and his hair was messy.

He was being spoken to by a lady with blonde hair and sunglasses. Chloe squinted. It was hard to see without her glasses.

She stumbled onto the stage he'd just been and got the biggest shock of her life.

"Mom?"
