Getting in Trouble

Alex's POV chapter 7

"Son, did you just come out of there?" A loud booming voice shouts at me. I look up to see my father staring right back at me.

"Yes father" I state trying to keep a straight face.

"I have told you and your siblings to never converse with the staff and to never go into the staff's living quarters." He is still shouting.

"Father I was going in th-"

"Nope I will have none of that. follow me. We will discuss this with your mother. She will be very mad at you son." He has stopped shouting now and starts to walk to my mother's office. I quickly start walking and following behind him.

We reached my mother in her office. I quickly compose myself. I have always feared my mother more than I have feared my father.

"Hello honey." My mom says getting up to greet my dad and kissing his cheek. "And hello to my oldest son Alexander the third" she kisses my cheek and sits back down.

" Hello mom." I say responding by kissing her on the cheek. My father and I take our seats in front of her.

"What brings you two gentlemen to my office?"

"Our son here was in the staff's living quarters. He was also conversing with them." My father says.

"Son, what have we said about talking to the staff?" My mother says.

"I know you have said not to converse with them but-"

"No buts son you said you know what we have said so that means you had no right to be in there."

"Yes mother I know" I sigh.

"Don't roll your eyes at your mother son." My father states.

"I-" I try to protest. "Mother, father, listen to me please!"I say, my voice rising slightly. "Since you asked me to find a new main maid. The butlers had her down in the dtaff quarters" before I could finish talking I was interrupted again.

"Yes sin that's where the maids go. Are you feeling fine you look a bit pale."My mother says and leans across the table to feel my forehead.

"Honey don't lay across the table like that it makes me wanna-"

"Dad, I am still in the room!"I shout, closing my eyes and plugging my ears. My dad chuckles and my mom sits back down.

"Are you sure you're ok honey you are looking a bit pale. I'll get the new maid to bring you to your room to take care of you. Ok?"

"I'm fine mom." I say. "It's ok I'll go to my room and you can send the maid in." I say agreeing so that I can see liza again. I stand up and while I'm walking out I hear my mom Whisper 'now we can finish what you started' with a quiet giggle. I gag and make my way to my room. I walk over to the intercom and buzz.

"Hello, what can we do for you Mr. White?" A lady's voice says through the speaker.

"Can you please send up a maid with a glass of ice water to my living quarters?"

"Yes sir right away" she states and then the line goes dead. Right as I flop into my bed I know I won't be able to get back up. I guess I actually am sick. A few moments later I hear a quick knock on my door.

"Come in" I shout and it hurts my head.

"Hello Mr White. The Queen has told me to take care of you and I have been told to bring you this ice water." Another lady says. Her voice is soft but stern. Her voice is soothing and calming. Her voice is... perfect. I feel like I've heard it before but I can't put a finger on who it is. I hear the lady shuffling around my room. Eventually she makes it beside my bed. She takes a cold cloth and lays it across my forehead. Her delicate fingers graze my skin. Her touch sends an electric current through me. She gets up again and exits the room. Leaving me in complete silence. Alone with my thoughts. I have no energy to sit up and see who it was. I waited a few minutes for her to come back. Two minutes pass by. Then two more. As the time goes by without her here my eyes fall closed and I begin to drift asleep. I try to keep myself awake waiting for her arrival but I can't. I eventually give in and pass out on my bed.
