"What do you want, Hobi?" Tae grumbled at the intruder.
His back was to the door as he typed away on his computer, but he could still sense the hybrid when he entered. He was in a terrible mood since he hadn't slept a wink the night before. The urge to take you right on Jungkook's bed while the others watched had plagued his mind the entire night.
"That's not a very professional way to greet a colleague. I've been thinking about your "scenario" from the other day because I couldn't get it out of my mind. It all sounded too familiar. And then it hit me! A week ago a human was taken from one of the local centers. I say taken because it would have been impossible for her to escape alone. So, I got to thinking..."
"About?" Tae was already on the verge of ripping the neck of anyone that came at him wrong, but in this case, he couldn't. If he acted on his emotions, it would make him look awfully guilty and he couldn't expose himself like that. Hobi was insufferable when he had a hunch and Tae regretted ever coming to him. He hated to admit it, but he suddenly felt incredibly protective of you as well.
"Well, when you came to me and asked me that question, things clicked. It was like you had the perfect explanation. Are you keeping a secret from me?" Hobi's tone suggested he was teasing, but in truth, he was suspicious.
"Why would I? All cases that come in run through half of the departments here. There are no secrets. Why would I even care about one human? My scenario was a hypothetical, but it seems you can't move on from that? I think you've become a little obsessive."
"Maybe. And yet...your scent has changed..."
"Get the fuck out. I'm tired, I had a long night, and I'm not in the mood for you."
"My my...testy aren't we? I'll leave you alone—for now."
With that Hobi walked out, tail wagging, and Tae gripped his computer mouse so tightly it cracked. "Fucking moron. Now I gotta worry about his ass on my tail. What the fuck are we going to do..."'
He was already on edge, the stress of everything building more and more to the point he could barely keep his composure. But it wasn't just the stress of the situation, oh no, you were making it so much worse. Knowing that you were so close to giving yourself to Jungkook made him so inexplicably angry. And then, when he decided to come over and tell you both to cut it out, he found Jimin at the door hissing and taking deep breaths. If he hadn't gotten there when he did, things might have spiraled.
And now Hobi was obsessed with the situation he should never have brought up in the first place. If you were found out, they'd remove you from their home and he'd be helpless. Taking a deep breath, he ran his fingers through his hair careful not to tug his ears and went back to work. Hopefully the dog hybrid would leave him alone. He had so much to figure out and so little time to do it.

Back at home Jungkook had to meet his group for a project. He didn't want to go at all knowing that you'd be all alone. "I'll be back in like two hours. Please be careful. There's food in the fridge and the T.V. remote is there. If you get scared, you can call me. Remember this is a phone. Do you remember what I taught you?"
"Yes, I do. Please stop worrying. I've been in a cage, but I'm not an idiot."
Jungkook chuckled and tilted his head to the side. He gave your shoulders a squeeze and was just about to walk off, but you stopped him with a touch to his elbow. He paused, looking down the bridge of his nose, eyes focused on your lips. Sliding a hand behind your neck, he leaned down and kissed you. It was the most perfect kiss, and you melted into him. Thinking it was going to get better, you went to wrap your arms around his neck, but he tugged you back with a chuckle.
