So he HAD a car when they were in collage, but it was a peice of shit and Edd refused to go long distances in it because he didn't trust it, but he really liked it
Eventually it did break down, but instead of getting rid of it like everyone was begging him to, he fixed it, and made it way better than it was in the first place, because now he had an actual house and a lab to work out of, in fact he connected the same ai he made for his lab to the car (yeah he made an ai for the lab I might talk about her at some point but she's not that important). He pretty much armed it to the teeth with lasers and lots of compartments for his guns, it's got a shit toon of gear in the trunk that he made that can do all kinds of stuff. He named her "Lady Indestructible" Tom said that was lame and punched him
He spent actual years on this thing, and still makes constant additions and modifications, a few being
The "purge passengers" button, y'know, just in case
Several lighters that are just part of the car, for cigars and weed, just melting stuff in general, to start a fire, a lighter is helpful for lots of stuff and an automatic one that's part of your car is even better
So many pencils and pens, because he keeps losing them, so he just like put them everywhere, somehow he also managed to chew nearly all of them
