As Nani stood in front of the stupid doors to audition for this stupid show, she thought of how stupid it was of her to agree to do this stupid shit. At that moment, she received a text that reminded her of why she was doing it.

'They're ready for you, Nani. I love you💗 you'll be great love.' -Naya

She'd do anything for Naya, sadly. It has been this way ever since they were 15, when they realized their love for each other was really real. Well, Nani knew she'd loved the Latina since she was 13, Naya just didn't know, or reciprocate the feelings, until they were 15. She could remember the day that everything fell into place, as it would never leave her memory.

But that's a story for another time. She had to audition now, and she was extremely nervous, despite that she had more pull than anybody in that choir room or whatever.

Her background was that of somebody who recently moved from Atlanta, Georgia. Real southern person or whatever. Naya managed to pull some strings to make sure the person was gay, cause Nani didn't want to act straight when she really could barely stand males. Naya told her that when she walked in, she was to go straight into character, no intros or anything.

So she took a breath and pushed the doors open, putting on her 'little smirk of ultimate confidence and arrogance that gets on her innocent and wonderful girlfriend's nerves' or so Naya calls it. She could see Naya roll her eyes across the room, and that just made the expression on her face more genuine.

Nani's POV

"So, I heard y'all were short a few people? I'm here to change that, or whatever." I allowed my eyes to roam around the room, getting a good look at everyone's faces.

"Yes! Yes, we do!" A small brunette sashayed over to me and grabbed my arm. "We need more people to make me look good for my solos!"

I swear to God, if this wasn't her in character, I would've whipped her ass.

"Oh, no, love. I don't do that swaying in the back. Sit back and let me blow your mind." I shot her a wink and sat her down as she shot me a confused look.

I told these music people before what I wanted them to play, and I also told them I was gonna be on the piano, and they were cool with it. "Here we go, kids." I laughed and began playing the melody on the piano

"As a matter of fact, I was the one who said 'I love you' first. It was about 8 years ago, don't act like you dont know. We were sitting at home in ya mama's living room cause we couldn't be alone. See your mama knew I was something else, she knew how I felt."

I couldn't help but look up at Naya, who was keeping her face placid so she wouldn't break out of character. I remembered telling her what the deal was, and the aftermath was the worst.

But I had to keep going.

"Back then we were in school, and that's your favorite excuse. Growing up, I was a fool, but I can't lie, I'm missing you. Listen and don't trip, I think I need a bottle with a genie in it. Here's my wish list."

I stood up from the piano and some dude took over. I tried my best to keep my eyes off Naya, but it was hard, cause shit, I was pretty much singing to her in front of a bunch of strangers. To play off how much I stared at her, I walked to the other side of the room, staring at some blonde chick.
