i. fridays will always be better than sundays

"AUTUMN"

the autumn season will always be a season that has a place in severus' heart but the one thing he loved about this particular autumn is that he was spending it with you. every moment he had with you was during the season of autumn. the day the both of you admitted feelings for one another, your first date, your proposal and even your wedding. it was as if it was your lucky season.

you looked out towards the back garden in your home, the orange leaves appearing before your eyes. you looked at your watch and then out the window, you still had time before the day turned dark. you went outside in the garden, grabbing the rake from the little shed severus owned and began raking all the leaves ensuring they were all in neat piles.

severus later arrived and he saw you in the distant, you looked up from the leaves and saw your husband in the distant. you waved and gave him a warm smile before you continued raking. not even minutes later, you had seen your husband in the garden as he picked up a leaf.

"hard at work darling?" he said, pecking your temple. you nodded and exchanged a kiss in return, you took a good look at the leaf that severus picked up, giggling to yourself.

"what's so funny hm?" he couldn't help but ask.

"the leaf looks like you." you said through your sweet giggles.

"so it does, i never quite noticed." he said to himself. you put the rake down and enveloped your arm inside his as you both took a good look at the leaf, tracing the outline with him.

your focus shifted away from the leaf at hand, your eyes on him as he attentively analysed the leaf in his hand. you spotted one by your shoes, picking it up and putting it next to severus' leaf.

severus looked at the new leaf you picked up, the shape of your face vaguely prominent in the leaf.

his lips perked into a smirk that only you could see, putting the leaves side by side. "i'll take them back inside, if you'd like that." you offered, severus handed you the 2 leaves and you went to put them on the table.

severus was left alone, looking at each of the piles you made. the good old days slowly coming back to him, his surroundings making him feel content inside.

"hey, be careful with those nettles! they sting pretty bad." you called out to your first year students who had split to their respective plant beds to plant nettles. that was quite the basic task right?

you had the class be put into pairs, you had plucked the names out of thin air. knowing that harry potter and draco malfoy had to be partners for this practical task, there was no doubt that was going to be a challenge. those two had been at their throats since the beginning of the school year. and it looked as if it would be a never ending rivalry, gryffindor and slytherin had always clashed with one another, often overshadowing hufflepuff and ravenclaw.

you were quite unsure as to whether you wanted this particular class to handle planting nettles, considering that this was quite the reputable class; but regardless this was professor sprout's orders and herbology was mandatory.

"give it here potter! you're supposed to spread the seeds, not put them in one place, you fool!" draco spat at the gryffindor.

"professor l/n said so malfoy!" harry muttered, now they were wrestling next to a fresh nettle bed. attempting to shove one other into it.

"hey hey! harry potter, draco malfoy. break it up!" you exclaimed trying to break them up.

"how about you let go potter?" draco sneered, letting go as harry's arm had shoved you and you fell in the fresh nettle bed.
