x. time alone with you

you and severus had been married for 3 years, you had done everything together. you two had done everything together, you knew that the moment you set eyes on him that day at hogwarts, the moment you made the unbreakable vow with him, that was when you you wanted to be with him for the rest of your life.

you were around one another almost all the time, so every little intricacy that either you or severus had made or noticed, you both made the effort to surprise one another with it. your life with severus had been full of surprises.

upon invitation, you were invited by the malfoy family to join their housewarming party, which happened to fall on the same day as your wedding anniversary.they had recently moved to a new mansion and they wanted to celebrate that. of course they invited you and severus along, severus and lucius had been relatively close in the days they were both death eaters, but that piece of the both of them was no more. after voldemort fell, severus swore not to associate with any new cult following involving the dark lord posthumously.

you looked at the invitation, the dress code was dress to impress. you looked through your wardrobe to see if you had anything suitable for the event, you took out a black dress that simply reached little over your knees, the top of the dress being a v-neck with golden details that bestowed upon your eyes, you put it on your body looking in the mirror and nodded to yourself.

you grabbed some tights and your kitten heels, you styled your hair in a delicate bun after you put the dress on, wearing the tights and putting on your shoes. you then grabbed some lipstick nearby and put it on your lips, making sure you didn't overline them. you grabbed your purse once you heard severus call for you.

you left the bathroom, adjusting your dress once more before going down the stairs of your home. severus turned around and had a look at you.

you were perfect. he wouldn't have it any other way, he took a hold of your hand and pressed his lips against your hand.

"you look beautiful." he said. you smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"you don't look too bad yourself." you answered. severus opened the door and saw the horse carriage that was at the doorstep.

he helped you get inside and then he followed after, the carriage now making its way to the malfoy manor.

"i didn't know the malfoys were still stuck in the 1800s." you joked.

"you know how they are, always keeping the malfoy tradition. as lucius once said." severus said, you let out a small laugh before resting on his shoulder.

the moment you arrived you both had a look at the malfoy manor. "i couldn't imagine living in a place like this." he admitted.

"me neither, there's so much space. i don't know how we'd find anything in there." you said. your small home in spinners end was quite frankly more than enough for the both of you.

you both went out of the carriage. the house was much better in person than what you heard of in letters. you both made your way inside and had a look at the mansion.

the first thing you saw was the family portrait that dominated the walls. lucius, narcissa, draco. that was what the family was currently made up of alongside the many generations past them.

"severus, y/n. we're glad you could make it." lucius said.

"oh y/n its so nice to see you at last, lucius has spoken a lot of you." narcissa came in pulling you into a quick hug.
