If you flip through the pages of this great epic, you wouldn't find anything about Pragati. Some say Pragati existed and others ignore her. Many have reduced her tale to that of a myth.

Honestly, I don't know which to believe.

To me she was my  protagonist. Her existence mentioned in some article paved a path to my imagination. Her story was not just a fiction to me nor would I want to believe that she never existed. The information gathered by historians about her is very less and unsure. It's said that she had married a sage in Paanchal.

Why did she marry ? Whom did she marry?etc..

I have no answers to these questions. After multiple research failures, I decided to draw a conclusion of my own.

What happened to Draupadi was indeed dreadful. Pragati might have been affected by her mother's traumatic experience.

This might have resulted in the decision of marrying a sage. So that, this keeps her away from the palace life. She was scared of experiencing something like the Dyuth sabha.

Instead of moving forward in life and learning to live with such memories, she had covered herself away from the world.

"Pragati" the name means to progress in life.

Princess Pragati herself was a prisoner of her own name.
