"You want me to ruin his car? Does he even have one?" Arden is giving me a little laugh and I am glad that I got one out of her. She once again had a bad date since the guy didn't decide to show up. "I don't think he even has one, Lia. You remember the time I had to bring him to his parent's house since he didn't have a driving license."

"How can I even forget that? You had to drive four hours just because you like him. He clearly knew that he could take advantage of you and your kindness." Arden is the opposite of me. She does anything for people because she likes to believe there is some good in everybody's heart. I don't.

She thought she was going to experience a whole friend to lovers plot like all her favorite books. I didn't have the balls to tell her that it won't happen with that guy because he seems like trouble. She once told me that she likes to believe she can change a player into a softie. And I can only hope that it will happen one day.

"I was being nice, Lia, clearly something that you should learn." He just used her. He is one of the many people that use her for her kindness. He knew she would help him out because that is what she does. "I am nice, Arden. I am just not to every single person I meet in my life. And you know the reasons behind it."

Arden keeps on talking to me while I start my car. I make sure to put her on the loudspeaker before driving out of my parking spot. I am going to meet her at her spot so we can spend the rest of her dinner together. "But it is okay that you are like that. I love how you are so kind to everybody even when they don't deserve it. Most people should learn that from you."

"And you know what Willow would say?" My music fills my car and I tone it down otherwise I can't hear her. "She would say to kick that idiot's ass when you see him tomorrow. And if you need any help doing it, you need to call us and we will gladly help."

"We are not going to tell her because she is finally on a date with Davina. I don't want to ruin her date with my drama." Getting to the diner takes a bit longer than usual because the road is closed off. "She wouldn't mind that, Arden. You are not a burden."

"I still don't want to ruin her date." I can hear some woman asking her something. Probably what she wants to order. I can't hear her answer because she is probably holding her hand in front of her phone. She finds it rude to not give people her full attention.

"I should learn to be kind to fewer people." I hate all the men that make her feel like that. Arden is an amazing person and I hate that she feels so bad about herself. It has taken a lot of work and talking with her therapist to get where she is nowadays. And all those little boys are ruining her process.

And yes they are little boys. A real man would never treat a woman like that.

"You don't have to change yourself, Arden. I really love you for who you are, which is an amazing person." And I don't lie because she has helped me through a lot of shit. She is there for me whenever the date of the accident comes closer. She keeps herself locked inside with me because she knows how much I hate reliving that day.
