Takemichi's POV
November 19th 2005
The loud sound of bowling pins colliding with a bowling ball took over my ears.
"Strike! Wow, another one in a row Takemichi?" Hina's voice spoke excitedly behind me.
I turned around, noticing the familiar odd position I was in. It had been quite a while now but I guess this made sense. I was really into bowling around this time in my life. I must've dragged Hina here for a date.
I glanced over at her as she took her own ball, pushing it down the lane with both hands. I couldn't help but be grateful that I appeared here, I needed something positive after the horrible future I just experienced.
"Your turn again! Knock them down!" Hina spoke, not minding the fact she got another gutter ball.
"Yeah..." I adjusted the fancy glove I had on my hand. I suppose while I was at it, I might as well try to impress her further.
I grabbed my ball, tilting it as I did so. The adrenaline of the sport flowed through my veins. Though I guess it wasn't a competition right now and more so just trying to look cool. I stepped forward, aiming towards the center of the lane in hopes for receiving my fourth strike in a row. With that I let the ball go, at just the same time as the person beside me.
I hadn't noticed the other person, until we let go of the balls. Both of us earning an impressive strike at the same time. I looked over to the person, curious to see who I was matching up with.
"Damn, imagine us both getting strikes. Must be in sync, aren't we?"
I couldn't stop my jaw from dropping open. This guy was huge, I doubt I had seen someone taller honestly. But once the shock calmed, I couldn't help but ponder at who he was. He looked awfully familiar. The scar on his lip was the indicator for certain.
"Ah wait, I knew I recognized you from somewhere!" The man piped up; he didn't look displeased but I felt bad I couldn't place him.
"Hanagaki Takemichi right?"
"Wait, what?" He already knew who I was?
"Don't look at me like that, geez. Yeah, captain is a big position but don't act so stuck up about it." He rubbed the back of his head, avoiding my gaze for a moment.
"Well, anyways. I'm Shiba Hakkai, I'm the 2nd division captain under Mistuya. But you know him at least, right?" Hakkai stuffed his hands in his pockets, smiling at me while he introduced himself.
"Can we go now?" A girl behind him stood up from her seat, ignoring our conversation.
"Shut up would ya? I'm playin here." He turned only his head to talk back at her.
I couldn't really believe it, this guy, he was the Shiba from the Black Dragons. I could only imagine what I had just recently seen from this guy in the future. He didn't seem the same from then at all.
"Why you gotta act all weird? Mitsuya told me tons about you!" Hakkai draped his arm around my shoulder like we had been friends for years.
"Let's get to know each other! Common over to my place for a bit, you can bring your wifey too!"
He wasted no time in finishing up his game and ushering our jackets on. Then pushing everyone out of the bowling alley. What I needed to process though was the fact that a member of the Black Dragons was currently a vice captain in Toman. Not to mention he was a murderer and wanted to be friends.
