Atsumu's POV
It's the weekend, finally. I thought this week would never end. Since Osamu and I took the time to talk to Mom and Grandma about our situation, I've felt noticeably lighter.
Osamu's acting strange, though. Excited, even. Grandma raised a brow when he didn't even ask for a third helping of breakfast, almost like he was in a rush.
"What's got you up and going this morning, Osamu, dear?"
He stretched his arms over his head and motioned for me to get ready to follow him with his fingers. It's one of our subtle hand signals we've come up with since childhood. Shoyo knows a few of them, too.
"I got plans today, is all. I'm gonna get dressed. Thanks fer breakfast."
"Anytime, sugar! Make sure you stay cool today, it's supposed to be really hot!"
"Sure thing, Mom."
He made his way up the stairs, and a quiet thump was heard when his door shut. Grandma chuckled, and I kinda got the gist of why she did.
"I'm gonna head up, too. I might hit up the town and walk around or somethin', haha. Thanks for breakfast."
"Sure thing, honeybun! Go on and make sure Shoyo's alright! That sounded like a nasty fall through the window!"
My shocked expression must have been noticable because Mom placed her hands on her hips and grinned.
"Don't think that's not the first time Shoyo's come bumblin' into y'alls room right when the sun hits, haha! He's such an energetic lil' bundle of joy!"
Mom slapped me on the shoulder and shooed me toward the stairs.
"Tell him to come through the door next time, and tell him to come down and greet us!" Grandma called to me.
"Okay!"
When I opened the door to my brother's room, Osamu was changing his clothes and Shoyo was laying on his bed like a starfish.
"Ah," his seepy, double-colored eyes shifted over to me, and a grin pulled on his lips. "Atsu! Good morning!"
"Mornin', Sho."
A yawn opened my mouth wide as I flopped down beside him on Osamu's bed. A shadow blocked the light from the ceiling for me, and, when I opened my eyes, I realized it was something in Osamu's hand. Tickets to the waterpark.
"We're going to the waterpark today," he spoke. I raised a brow when I was sure Shoyo wasn't looking at us. His eyes were still shut.
Osamu gave me a wink, immediately alerting me that it's something to do with Shoyo. So, with a subtle nod, I sat up and clapped my hands together.
"Ya already knew 'bout this, Sho-Chan?! Why didn't ya tell me?!"
He chuckled at my words, but his eyes were still shut. Osamu made the move to sit beside him and run a hand through his fluffy ginger hair.
"Did I keep ya up to late last night?"
Huh?
Shoyo nuzzled into Osamu's touch and smiled.
"No, it's not that. I've just been a bit sleepy these past couple of days. Still, I'm excited! I can't wait to go to the waterpark!"
"Hold the phone!" I exclaimed, chopping the bubbly aura around them with my hand.
"What'd you guys do last night?!"
-----
After a much-needed explanation, we bid Mom and Grandma goodbye, gathered our things up, and headed for the waterpark. Of course, as the oldest twin, I was in the driver's seat on the way, and, as the driver, it's only right I get to pick the passenger.
Shoyo sat next to me, his thigh acting as a heater for my hand and his cute face giving me something to admire when we approach a red light or stop sign.
"Jokes on you," Spoke Osamu from the backseat. He had his bag under his head for a pillow and my jacket over his body for a makeshift sort of blanket.
"I get three whole seats to myself."
He seems salty about me getting to spend more time being closer to Shoyo. Haha, loser.
"Are you gonna take a nap, "Osa? I have a towel in my bag you can use for a blanket! We still have about half an hour until we get there, right, Atsu?"
"Yep!"
Osamu hummed and gave Shoyo a soft thanks before unzipping the backpack in the backseat floorboard and pulling his stuff out.
"Oh, yeah, Shoyo." He turned to me. "There's some vitamins, raisins, and orange juice in the trunk. It'll help with your fatigue and whatnot."
"Really? Cool! Thanks!"
-----
(I'm struggling to keep this story going; It should have stayed in the drafts, damn it T-T. anyway, it's after the waterpark, now!)
Sunburnt, tired, and hungry, the three of us decided to stop at a local diner before heading home. It's not exactly the perfect place to confess to someone, with the smell of greasy burgers and baby powder in the air, but, hey, Shoyo didn't seem to mind.
He said yes, after all.
"I can't believe you guys... actually like me, haha."
He fiddled with a french fry in his hand, spinning it around and dipping it in the sauce and whatnot.
"Why wouldn't ya? Yer just... so amazin'! It's impossible not to like ya!"
A laugh passed his lips at my words.
"So, Shoyo... What do ya think of us?" Osamu couldn't seem to keep still, either. I was too overjoyed to think about being anxious until he said that.
Shoyo took a moment to answer, his cheeks still burnt a bright red, and it only worsened the thoughts in my head. He accepted our feeelings, but... does he reciprocate them?
"Well... You guys are... so cool..! And kind... thoughtful, too, haha! There's no way I couldn't return your feelings! But, there's a condition!"
"And what's that?"
He smiled and moved to rest his cheek in his palm.
"No leaving me again, okay?"
The happiness I felt was overwhelming. My heart felt as if it were going to explode. I grabbed his hand, and Osamu locked fingers with him with a smile he only ever shows Shoyo.
"Promise!"
"Promise."
