"You've got this."
Dustin grabs his bag, with Steve leaning over from the drivers seat, "I'll be right here to pick you up after."
"Yeah, okay," he tries to convince himself, but it's not overly helpful.
"How long does this take?"
"Four hours? It might be longer?"
"Okay. I'll come back in 4 hours, and if need be, I'll wait out here for you to finish."
"Thank you."
Steve smiles, "now, go, you're leaving everyone hanging on to their seats in there."
"Okay, okay, I'm going."
"Have fun!" Steve watches Dustin hurry inside, before throwing the the car in reverse, "he's gonna kill it."
Dustin sits at the head of of table. Lucas, Mike, Will and the rest, sit before him.
"I hope everyone is ready, because, for the newcomers, we will be following the quest to the resting place of the Demogorgon, in order to take him out."
Just over 4 hours later, the game is finally nearing the end.
"Mike, you need 17 or higher, or it's game over."
"Come on, Mike, win this," Will's hand rests on Mikes shoulder for second, before he realizes what he's doing.
The dice hits the table. It rolls straight to Dustin.
"That's... a... HIT!"
Everyone cheers before going silent again, allowing Dustin to finish the campaigns storyline.
"One final hit, performed by Tayr, the Demogorgon let's out a pained shriek, as it falls back, into the pits of fire. The group can rejoice, knowing they've saved the land."
Everyone gathers their things and heads out the door.
"Do you want us to stay and help clean up?"
Dustin looks up from this notes, "no, it's okay, there's not much to do."
"Alright, we'll see you later."
"See ya."
Dustin leans back in his seat and sighs, "well, I did it."
"You did. You did really good, Henderson," the door has remained open.
Dustin turns, ready to go with Steve, but he doesn't find Steve there.
"Eddie!"
"Hey, kid," Eddie has to hold on to the door frame, in order to not be knocked over by Dustin.
"But, I saw you die, how are you here?"
"I can't explain right now, I really want to, but no one is even supposed to know I'm here, but I had to tell you how good you did."
"Thanks!" Dustin pauses for a moment, "wait, no one can know?"
"No. I need you to keep my secret. Please. Promise me you will."
"Okay. I promise," Dustin quickly hugs Eddie again, "you should go, Steve will be in soon."
"Right. Keep taking care of him for me, okay?" He winks at the doorway, "and the rest of them."
"I will."
"See you around."
Dustin finishes grabbing his stuff, before Steve turns the corner.
"Henderson, let's go."
"Coming."
"You're smiling," it's been a missed thing in the house.
"I am."
"Well, tell me about it, how'd it go?"
They get in the car, as Dustin notices Eddie by a government truck.
"Dustin?"
"Sorry, guess I got distracted."
"It's fine. How'd it go? What happened? Everyone seemed excited after it."
"Have you ever played before?"
"No."
"You won't get it then," Dustin jokes.
"Yeah, well, I still want to hear about it."
They're both smiling now.
"It was great. We had to go through so roles and rules for the newcomers, but then we got into the game-"
Dustin excitedly explains everything to Steve, being sure not to out Eddie's secret.
