Wave's POV
I sigh, causing my body to slump as I deflate slowly. A small smile forms on my lips as I lift my head to gaze at the beautiful sky. Mixes of purple, black and blue in a portrait of small, shiny stars. It was a rare sight, and I was grateful to have witnessed such a beauty of a scene.
I was even more grateful, though, to be right next to my husband in that moment. My husband, who's name was Xavier Worri, was an introverted kind of guy. He shut himself indoors and found his own passions alone, in darkness.
We were friends for a while, about a month or two, and we met in this exact spot one day. The both of us had intentions of confessing to one another, and we did at the same time. It was romantic yet hilarious.
Yet here I was, months later, sitting on the warm stone fountain edge, next to my soulmate. I was loved, and I was happy.
And I want it to stay that way forever.
I turn my head to face my partner, taking in his pale skin and hair, complimented by his deep purple eyes. His ears poked out from the top of his head, and the wind blew through the white strands of his hair.
I was so lucky to be with such a handsome young man.
"I would say the same about you."
He breaks the silence by reminding me that he could read minds, catching me red handed.
"Oh, you!"
I try to keep my calm by replying normally, hiding my embarrassment. How could I be so stupid? His beauty is the thing that's distracting me, yeah!
"You're such a hopeless romantic."
Crap. He chuckles to himself softly and turns his head to look at the sky again.
Fine, I guess I'll make the move! I laugh evilly in my head as I reach over to his face, touching the tip of his chin and nudging his jaw to make him face me.
We both get lost in one another's eyes for a moment that seemed like forever, Xavier's eyes being a violet void of mystery, and mine being a deep, blue sea of secrets. Until, I leaned in closer and smooched him gently on the lips.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
