It was getting late. I bent down to lean over Xavier to take a peek at his watch.
"It just turned 12:30am."
He said, smirking a bit from my attempt to be independent.
I sigh, wearing a playful expression, before scooting closer to him and hooking arms. He hooks his arm with mine and we walk home, passing the dim streetlights and cottagecore buildings.
...
"After you."
Xavier speaks up, escorting me into the front door of our house. I smile and bow formally before taking a step in. A long sigh escapes my mouth as I take in the homey smell of the house.
"Want me to make some dinner?"
Turning around, I face Xavier and ask him. I'm feeling generous today and want to cook a nice meal for the two of us.
"Sure, I'll be looking forward to it."
He nods and smiles again, maxing out the cute-o-meter, before walking past me and sitting down on a sofa near the window. The window exposed the cliff behind our house, and the wide ocean ahead, as well as our neighbor - Meeko Akuma's - house.
Meeko was a quiet man, but he supported us greatly in our relationship. He owned a small farm in his back garden, and would often come to our front door shyly to offer some produce. We've only been to his house once, and it was huge. His relation to higher ranked people gave him a decent amount of money.
Clapping my hands together, I walk over to the small, yet cute, kitchen and prepare a meal that we would never forget.
