The next day, Y/n had been trying to pay attention in class but her brother had been on her mind. 'What had made him so upset yesterday' , she thought as the classroom door slammed open revealing a sweaty Dustin. The boy kept apologizing as he walked over to his seat and pulling out his book. He turned to the party and said, "AV Club at Lunch." and they all nodded, he then turned to Y/n and mouthed AV Club to which she nodded. Dustin pointed at Max and Y/n nodded understanding. "He wants us to meet at the AV club." "Whats that?" "It's our club we have. Just follow me after class, okay?" Max nodded and began to pay attention to the teacher again.
"What was so important to call a meeting?" Mike questioned and Dustin pulled out his trap for the day before. "We saw this yesterday." Y/n states and Dustin shook his head. "Not the trap, what's inside it!" He exclaimed as he opened it, pulling out some weird slimy slug. "His name is D'artagnan." "D'artagnan?" "Dart for short" Everyone made disgusted faces except Dustin, Mike and Y/n. She was the first to grab it, looking at it and playing around with it in her hands. "Here." She said as she was handing it to Max. "Ew it's slimy" "gross" "Bleh" Mike then had it, "What exactly is it" "Exactly my question. At first i thought it was a pollywog." Dustin said making Max raise an eyebrow. "Pollywog?"Max questioned " It's another word for tadpole." Y/n said, "A tadpole is-" "I know what a tadpole is" "Then you know that most Tadpoles are aquatic." Well, Dart, he isn't. He doesn't need water." Lucas looks at Dustin. "Yeah, but aren't there non-aquatic pollywogs?"
"Terrestrial pollywogs? Yep. Two to be exact," He points at a page in a book he had placed on the desk. "Indirana Semipalmata," he flips to another page. "And the Adenomera Andreae. One's from India, one's from South America. So, how did one end up in my trash?"
"Maybe some scientists brang it here an it escaped?" Max questioned but Dustin shook his head, before he could finish his sentence Y/n felt something in her stomach so she ran out to the restroom and emptied her stomach into the toilet. The year prior she had gone into the upside down to help look for Will and sometimes she would feel sick remembering the place and she usually was able to keep it together so why was she throwing up now? She was pulled away from her thoughts when Max slammed the bathroom door open. "Are you okay?" She asked as Y/n flushed the toilet and went to the sink to clean out the taste of vomit from her mouth. "I'm fine. Thanks for checking on me." She stated after she spit out the water, washing her hands right after. "Let's head back to class? " Max questioned as she held out her hand to which Y/n smiled and took it and walked out the bathroom.
When school was over, Y/n, Max, Lucas and Dustin wanted to tell Mr. Clark about Dustin's discovery but was interrupted by Mike running in the class yelling, "I'm sorry Mr Clark it was just a stupid prank!" Mike grabbed the trap. "What the hell Mike?" Dustin questioned but Mike ran for the door. "AV Club right now! Right Now!"
"Come on guys can I come in yet?" Max questioned. "No!" Mike said. The raven haired boy explained that Will had saw a similar creature in the upside down so they had to assume Dart was from the upside down. "We have to take him to Hopper." Y/n said and Dustin made an offended face. "No! He'll be as good as dead!" "Maybe he should be dead!" "How could you say that!?" "How could you not? He's from the upside down! That's like saying someone from the death star isnt bad!"
"We have a bond!" Dustin yells and it was Y/n's turn to make a face. " A bond? Because he likes nougat?" "No because he trusts me! I told him i would take care of him!" As Mike and Dustin went back and forth, the trap shook. Mike grabbed the Microphone on the desk and held it up. "Don't you hurt him!" Dustin said, "Only if he attacks" Mike responded. "Just open it already!"
Dustin opened the trap and dart fell out making Y/n feel sick once again. Dart sprouted legs and screamed making Mike whack at him but miss. Dart jumped off the table and ran for the door, Max had pick locked the doorknob and Dart ran right passed her. The party ran after him, Y/n falling onto Max in the process. "Sorry." she said as she stood and helped Max up. "Why did you open the door! You let him get away?!" Mike yelled at Max, but Y/n stood in front of her defensively, " Why did you attack him?!" "Lets just go!" Everyone ran but Dustin who shouted after the party, "Don't you hurt him!"
As the party looked around for Dart, Max stayed by Y/n due to her being the nicest from the party. "Let's check in here." Y/n said as she opened the gym door and headed to the boys locker room. They searched around the lockers until a broom hit the back of the younger Harringtons back. "What the fuck?!" She asked, turning to see Mike holding the stick. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he looked at Max. "Looking for Dart!" "This is the boy's locker room" "Yeah so? She's here too!" "So you should go home." Mike left the locker room and Max followed behind. Y/n thought about staying behind but Max pulled her out the locker room. "Why do you hate me?" She asked Mike. "Hate you? I don't even know you" "Yeah but you don't want me in your party" "Correct" "Why?" "Because you're annoying!" Mike turned abruptly and bumped into Y/n who shoved him and glared. "Plus we dont need another party member. Im our paladin, Will's our Cleric, Dustin's out Bard, Lucas is our Ranger, Y/n is our Barbarian and El is our Mage." Y/n shook her head, "I told you to stop including me in your stupid Dnd fantasy world." Mike ignored her statement and Max jumped on her board. "I can be your zoomer." "Thats not a real thing." "It can be" Max began going in circles around Mike and Y/n, trying to impress the taller girl and trying to get Mike to let her in the party.
As the two bickered, something caught Y/n's eye. She turned and saw a familiar face in the gym window. She thought she must being seeing things so she looked back at Max who's board was pulled from under her feet. "Woah! You alright?" Y/n questioned as she helped the saphire eyed girl up once again. "Yeah. It was like a magnet pulled my board. I know that sounds crazy." The e/c eyed girl shook her head and looked at the gym door before looking at Mike again. The duo ran out and Max followed close behind.
Mike kept walking down the halls and Y/n waited for Max, holding her hand out for the redhead who gladly took it. Y/n felt her cheeks heat up as a voice came from her Walkie-Talkie, "Guy's? I found him." Will. Dustin was the first to respond, "Where?" "In the bathroom by Mr. Salerno's."
The two girls ran over and met up with the rest of the party. "Where is he?" Mike asked Dustin who shrugged. The group ran around looking for Will until they found him in the field having another one of his episodes.
