"Okay, so Tia Aaliyah is going to take you to daycare just until I finish my work, but don't worry I only have a couple more things to do. Also, that boy from daycare isn't going to bother you anymore. I made sure of that." I explain to Ophelia as I walk over to Aaliyah. "Okay, Ma. I'll see you later." Ophelia replies as she runs over to Aaliyah's brown desk. I sigh and walk back over to my office room.
I open my door softly and walk over to my black desk to start on the rest of the documents. I pull out my computer and begin the documents exhaustively. I quickly finish off some old documents that I had started on earlier.
Just as I am about to finish off the last documents I hear a soft knock on my office door. "Come in." I announce as I continue to look down at my computer. I hear the door open and I look up to see Aaliyah walking in with a smile on her face. "So, it took you longer than usual to pick Ophelia from school today." she says with a curious look on her face. "I walked instead of driving today. I needed fresh air, I guess." I replied with a shrug. "That's not it. It wouldn't have taken you that long even if you walked. Especially knowing how fast you walk and it couldn't have been because of Ophelia. She's in the stage where all she does is run." Aaliyah explains hurriedly. "So what was it?" she continues curiously.
"I bumped into this guy. Kept me occupied longer than expected. Nothing special." I say while avoiding her shocked expression. "YOU WHAT?! AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME!" Aaliyah yells out loudly while jumping up and down in excitement. "It isn't that big of a deal. He was playing the guitar on the sidewalk and I thought he was an amazing guitar player, so I tried to give him a twenty dollar bill. Turns out he wasn't homeless. He was cocky too, too cocky for my liking and besides I'm staying away from relationships, remember?" I rant to her while submitting the final document.
"I never said anything about a relationship. Also, I would've been so embarrassed if I thought someone was homeless and they weren't." Aaliyah says as she raises her eyebrows. "In my defense he even had his guitar case open, so how was I supposed to know and you know what just forget it. I'm most likely never going to see him again." I say as I begin to put my laptop away. Aaliyah scoffs and says, "He must've had some effect on you. I mean I don't even know if you've talked to a guy since Ophelia's dad an-" I freeze once I hear the accidental mention of Ophelia's sperm donor. I cough and stand up straight quickly grabbing all my things. "I should go pick Ophelia up from day care. It's getting late and I still need to feed her dinner." I say with an emotionless tone. We walk out together quietly and I lock my office quickly. I don't bother to tell her goodbye and I walk towards the elevator not bothering to put on a confident look.

This is the shortest chapter I've done so far but I didn't want to write about Amara picking up Ophelia and then them going home and stuff like that so I just decided to end it there. I honestly don't know what to do anymore so I'm sorry if it's so random.
