Chapter 2: Only One

"Dang!" Luffy yelled, throwing the controller onto the floor.He was inches away from the TV, observing every possible aspect of his video game that is visible. He did just get it yesterday though, since it was his birthday.

"You died again?" Ace asked, walking out of the kitchen into the living room.

"Yeah, sadly," Luffy sighed, then got up from his seat which was inches away from the tv.

"Why do you sit so close to the tv?" Ace looked back at Luffy who was heading into the kitchen, "You realize that's bad for your eyes, right?"

"I mean... yeah, but who cares," Luffy opened the cabinet and reached for the peanut butter.

"You wanna go blind? You just turned 18 Ya'know, still young," Ace turned back around and reached for the remote.

"I won't go blind necessarily, this is my second time doing it.... Since I got it, it's brand new too, I'll be fine.."

"Whatever you say," Ace put his feet onto the coffee table, "Oh also.. Someone's coming over today, they're my close friend."

"Law?" Luffy suggested, Ace went quite for a couple seconds, shocked at Luffy knowing the answer despite not knowing him...

"How did you know?"

"You talk about him all the time, I thought y'all were dating at one point," Luffy snickered after making that comment, walking over to the fridge to grab the jelly.

"W-" Ace was lost for words, but began blushing in the face, "DATING?" He couldn't even bother to imagine a life with Law.. His best friend of years and years, "Me and Law... dating? You haven't even seen the man yet!"

"Shishishishi," Luffy put the Jelly next to the peanut butter and bread, then began opening the drawer with the silverware, "but are y'all though? Why is he coming over here then?"

Ace went quite for a couple seconds, hesitating to tell Luffy, "He needs a place to stay, his parents are both sick and he doesn't have a job yet.. They're both at the hospital now," Ace sighed, "I feel bad, it seems like the world is falling apart for him.."

"Oh," Luffy was just imagining Ace wanting his 'friend' to be there with him. He originally thought Ace just wanted him to be here since his other brother Sabo is gone for work, "I hope they get better."

"Me to-" Ace was cut off by three identical knocks on the door, all happening exactly 3 seconds after the next. Both Luffy and Ace directed their heads toward the door, "he's here.." Ace said with a smile

"I'll get it," Luffy began running towards the door, "I wonder how he looks, I've heard so much.." Luffy had a big smile on his face, awaiting to see his brothers... friend.

Luffy put a hand on the doorknob and began to slowly open it, he wanted to be surprised, shocked, he was waiting to see what this man looked like.. Ace's "friend," once the door was fully open, Luffy was looking straight at someone's stomach, not comprehending what he was looking at.

"Hi," a voice from above said, Luffy slowly lifted his head up and was in complete shock of what he was seeing.

"Hey," Luffy said looking up at Law, his expectations weren't what they seemed.. Law was much taller, much more buff then Luffy expected.

Ace stared at Luffy and Laws interaction, they both were just looking at eachother. Deep into the eyes of one another, Luffy couldn't back up, he was invested into Law's eyes.

"So, so can I come in?" Law moved his two suitcases infront of him. Luffy blinked and started to step back.

"Oh, sorry," Luffy chuckled, scratching the back of his neck, "Ace is over there by the way! He is on the couch with his feet out."
