Murmurs of young children resounded in the room. Their guard was searching for a distraction until he heard a few words, that usually, you wouldn't hear children say as if it was nothing: the art of Khemia. At the sound of these words, Dainsleif rapidly turned to the two small humans who were conversing innocently.
The first, Kaeya, a five year old kid, next sovereign and one of the most dramatic kid that Dainsleif has ever met (not like if he had met a lot either way). The prince always found himself a way to acquire the castle's gossips whether it comes from a simple servant or some figure of power going about the place. Even with his not so developed vocabulary, he could tell what he heard around with an incredible capacity, creating a few discomforts non-desired in some people. Other than that, Kaeya learned fast every subject asked for someone his status and his future nothing but promising.
The second, Y/n, an also five year old kid, second degree cousin of Dainsleif and a future royal guard of the Eclipse Dynasty. Since birth, their destiny has been chosen to serve the royal family and protect Khaenri'ah. Of course, at their young age we can only force them to do a few initiations exercises, but it was a start. The young child often was satisfied with just observing and listening to their surroundings, making them an advantage to the young prince, who he, chatted the three fourth of the time.
On his part, Dainsleif, he was placed as a guard for the two children, more precisely Kaeya, that for the moment didn't have a nanny to take care of him. Y/n, their parents were just too occupied to give them attention, leaving the young guard with the responsibility of the youngster until they can start her real training.
Getting closer to young children (in French, there's a word for kids between the ages of 2 to 10, but there is no translation in English, so I'm sorry for the repetitions), Dainsleif was able to hear their conversation without a problem.
"Ah, I'm not sure what it is, but from what I've heard, the fact that some kid our age is capable of practicing the art of Khemia is something great," murmured the one with blue hair.
"You suppose? You think we could meet him someday?"
"Not sure, but I think he's staying with someone named Rhinedottir."
"Rhinedottir? Isn't that the super alchemist all the adults never stop talking about."
"Euhh, I guess."
"Otherwise, what did you eat this lunch?"
Dainsleif stopped listening when the children changed subject. In the end, their conversation turned out useless. He shouldn't expect much big information anyway. They're only five year olds.
