Sad ;-; #4

This on kids has a sad ending but hey, not all stories end on a good note ig.

Once apon a time, I lived in a lovely castle, but, sadly, I was a miserable wretch, who thought herself far better than others.

For I owned a great amount of land, which was the cause of great concern for me, and many other unfortunate people.

When I was young, I thought myself to be the fairest of them all, with my glowing skin, long, jet black hair, sparkling eyes, and my great figure.

I longed to be the envy of all who would take the time to gaze upon me.

And I was!

I was even invited to the most grand parties, and would have been a very grand princess, if my happiness were not spoiled by one little mistake.

One day, as I sat in my room, deep in thought, it came to me that the only thing preventing me from being truly happy was my appearance, which was not at all suitable for a princess.

My bedroom had a beautiful golden fireplace, but I had not the courage to light it, for I was afraid that my skin would appear yellow, and cause all the guests to avoid me.

And to make matters worse, I had never been in the company of any handsome young men, for I thought myself far too ugly for them.

Now, I could no longer bear the pain of my loneliness, so I decided to send my servant, Zachary, to find a young man to marry me, so that I might no longer be unhappy.

So, he came to me, and after I had kissed him, and told him how beautiful he was, he tried to leave, but, as he began to leave, I begged him not to leave.

Then, it happened that I was, once again, sitting in my bedroom, and I happened to glance at the golden fireplace.

Upon seeing this, I fell to my knees, and begged the young man to return, and light the fire, so that I might become as beautiful as I was once before.

But alas, Zachary had had enough of my foolishness, and turned around, and left me.

I wept for many days, for my hopes were finally crushed, and I was utterly alone.
