AFTER SPENDING THE PAST two years away from the upper crust of society, Margot was pleasantly surprised to find herself enjoying the company of the Bridgertons so much. She was not expecting to like them as much as she did, but perhaps the saying about second-borns having the most fun was true.

She was going to Grosvenor Square again today, though not because Benedict or anyone else had asked her. She had her own designs for her visit.

She took a deep breath as she approached the entrance to the home. It was as elegant as ever, of course. She mentally prepared herself to possibly be bombarded by one of the younger siblings upon her entrance. She was not used to being in a home with so many people, and as much as she admired their family bond, it could still be overwhelming for her.

The doorman let her in and directed her to the drawing room. Lucky for her, there were few Bridgertons present.

Benedict grinned as he stood in the doorframe of the drawing room upon noticing Margot's presence.

"Come to see your favorite Bridgerton?" he said, leaning against the frame.

"I have, actually," Margot said with a smirk, walking past Benedict to the couch where Eloise sat.

"Oh, come on," Benedict said.

Margot turned back to look at him. "You keep creating these traps for yourself to fall into."

"Well, hello, Margot," Eloise said, sitting up straight and putting down her book. "Glad to see you teasing my brother at this hour. I need all the help I can get."

"You both wound me so," Benedict said playfully.

"Oh, hush," Eloise told her brother, her eyes lighting up as Margot sat next to her. "Why don't you go sketch some more hands or something?" she told her brother. "I hear you need practice."

Margot laughed at this. Eloise seemed pleased with herself to have gotten such a reaction out of the girl, meanwhile Benedict tried to appear peeved though he secretly found her remark humorous as well.

"Fine," he said, walking away. The two girls chuckled some more as they watched him climb the stairs with an exaggerated pout on his face.

"He really does need practice," Margot told the girl after they settled down from their fit of giggles.

"Just think, you are doing him a service by spending time with me," Eloise said with a pleased smile.

"Then he should be thankful that I am calling you my favorite Bridgerton," Margot said without thinking.

"Your favorite? Really?" Eloise said, a small grin on her face.

"Well, you do not make me pose for hours," Margot said. But that response sounded obtuse, so she added, "And I so enjoy our conversations about women's rights."

"In fact," Margot said, "I have something for you."

Eloise perked up at this, raising her eyebrow in confusion and anticipation. Margot pulled out the object she had brought with her to the Bridgerton house.

"Eloise, I want to give you this book. I think you will find it quite invigorating."

Margot held the book out to Eloise, who carefully took it into her hands before poring over the cover.

"A Serious Proposal to the Ladies? Oh, I've wanted to read this for so long. Thank you."

"It is my copy, so there are some notes in the lines. I do hope you find it enlightening."
